I love that he loves...

"reading" his Bible. It was one of the first books he picked up this morning...

and one of the last books he looked through tonight.

So he can identify his letters. He can count to 12, minus the grudge he holds against "4". These skills make me proud. But this love of his... Oh, this is the stuff that thrills my soul.
I pray the Word will continue to thrill his. I pray that this momma will seek His wisdom to guide her boy in ways of Truth. For this momma gets it wrong. A lot. She is the one whose response was, "You don't want to read the Bible," when he asked to do so after closing the pages of Good Night Moon a few months back. "How do you read Genesis to an 18 month old," was the justification behind her initial thought. Thankfully the Holy Spirit intervened and reminded her of the age appropriate pictures with memory verses found in the middle of his Book. Lesson learned. She now reads the Bible whenever he asks.
Bringing children into the world is more than playing dress up and showing them off to all who come within sight. I am responsible for pointing my son to his Father. It's a matter I don't want to take lightly but am afraid I often times do.
My boy is a sponge, soaking in everything I say and do. May I do my part to fill his heart and mind with substance of eternal value...

Oh, Danielle, God has put your words in the forefront of my mind and heart! Please, oh please, let me be this kind of Mommy, too!
