7 months

It's Crosby's 7 month birthday!!! My, how he has changed since December! He is now sitting up really well. I am thinking he will be able to tolerate sitting in the front of the grocery cart within the next few weeks. That will make shopping much easier! His car seat takes up the entire basket! He is willingly rolling onto his stomach now. He is even choosing to sleep that way! His fine motor skills are becoming more and more advanced. He is nearly able to put his pacifier in his mouth by himself. He LOVES drinking water from our glass. He is consistently eating solids on a daily basis. We are at one meal a day, mainly because I haven't decided how to add in that second meal. He is "playing" at the end of his bottle feedings, trying to leave an ounce or 2 in the bottom. I manage to get them in him with a little work because I read that he should be taking 28-32 ounces at this point. 2 solid meals would REALLY make that goal hard to meet! So...we'll just see what happens there! He still sleeps like a champ. Naps go pretty well if we are at home. He still takes a 1.5 to 2 hour nap in the morning and an hour or so in the afternoon. He is laughing all the time. Still likes his activity mat and exersaucer. He just learned how to "jump" in the Johnny Jump Up. Now he is trying to jump in the exersaucer!!?!?? He loves to sit and read books. He REALLY likes Baby Einstein but we don't do that very often. Crosby chews on his hands constantly but no teeth yet! He is wearing size 2-3 Swaddlers today but will move up to size 3 when his current stash runs out tomorrow!! I am thinking there are no size 3 Swaddlers...which really makes me sad. His clothing size is all over the place. It completely depends on the brand. He is wearing anything from 6-9 months to 12-18 months. And at his last weigh in on the puppy scale, he was 18 pounds even. But that was a week ago! Just for the record, I am still keeping up with him supply wise!
Typical Schedule:
6:45-I usually hear him chatter and return the pacifier for a few more minutes of sleep!!
7:15-7:30- More chatter so we get up eat and he eats 7 ounces
7:30-9:00-Play; YMCA (and we will starting back on Monday!!)
9:00 - Morning nap
10:30-11:00- Wakes up and eats 6 ounces
11:00-12:00-Play
12:00-Dad is home for lunch!!!
12:30-Eats solids
12:30-2:00- Play until fussy; the he eats 6 ounces and takes a nap
3:00-4:00- Wakes up and plays, go for a walk
5:30-6:00- Eats 6 more ounces
6:00-7:30- Plays
7:30- Bath time
8:00- Eats 6 ounces and then put to bed

It seems like we are out and about several nights a week. He manages to adapt to whatever we do. We always try to do a bath, no matter what time we get home. He knows it is bed time afterward and it seems to help with the "routine"! Plus it keeps him smelling super sweet! Picture time...
Waiting for his bottle this morning...
Waking up from his nap...
Perspective Pictures

And again...loved that face!
Head shot...

The little guy is getting harder and harder to take pictures of. The next few pictures prove my point!!!

Rolling away...

Crunches... He does this all the time when we lay him on his back. Not sure where he thinks he is going!!!

Grabbing the lens...

Grabbing the strap...

Attempting to eat the strap...

And this one again just because he is sooooo stinkin' cute... : )

I knew I would love him. I didn't know this much was possible...

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 30 weeks old!!! Are you kidding me??? He is in his 30's???? My goodness, child, you are getting too big! His 7 month birthday is just around the corner!!!
Is that picture not hilarious? Blake's uncle, John, sent this in the mail! We had to take a picture of them side by side. They could be twins!!!
We went to the doctor on Wednesday just to check on Crosby's ears and nose. No infection. Just a cold. It is still lingering at this point. His nose gets stuffy at night and wakes him up. It is kind of pitiful to hear him crying because he can't breathe. That is the only time it seems to bother him though. Regardless, I am ready for this "cold" to go away!!!

Crosby had a big day on Saturday. He spent the afternoon at the zoo with his cousins, Sam and Gid! The boys had a blast...despite the heat and crowd!!!
So excited...
Sam and Gid looking at the elephants...
Hot, sticky boys...
Sweet boy...
Gid trying on hats...
The big boys riding the carousel...
Hanging out with the cousins Sunday afternoon...

Sam loves Crosby!

We spent Sunday afternoon at a shower for Anne Claire and baby Charlotte. These sweet ladies hosted a beautiful event for a special little girl...
Lucy and Anne Claire...and Charlotte!! :)
Crosby, me*, Anne Claire, Lucy and Kerri...

pecial friends drove up for the occasion! Corey and her mom, Melinda, brought the twins up for a visit! Sweet Davis...

And Miss Henley...

Crosby and Melinda...

Charlotte's gown, hand sewn by Lulu! Pictures don't even due it justice. It is absolutely beautiful!!! Remember Crosby's...

Cutie Pie...

Crosby and Grammie...

Crosby had his first slumber party on Sunday night! Melinda, Corey, Henley and Davis decided to spend the night. So, Crosby and I stayed in Columbia, too! 5 adults and 3 babies makes for a boisterous evening! It was so nice to have these "well prayed for" little ones together. We are so blessed...
Blake didn't get to join in on the fun because he had to work this morning. He says he missed us. For some reason, he was able to get a good night's sleep!!! Wonder why? I, on the other hand, had forgotten how noisy Crosby can be when he sleeps! But I don't care, I love hearing that voice of his...even in the middle of the night...on occasion!! :)

Good morning!!!!

Fun day running around Columbia with Henley and Davis...

Once again...I could kick myself!!! Not a single picture of me and Corey!! Why is it the photographer never makes it into the picture???

Mr. "I hate tummy time" has had a change of heart these days! I go in Crosby's room about 10 times before I go to bed every night. Not because I am worried about him, but because I need to see him"one more time"!!! He is so cute when he is sleeping, what can I say!! Anyway, when I went in on Thursday night, this is what I found...

When I went in Friday morning, this is what I found!!!

Unfortunately, he gets stuck at times and that makes him pretty mad!!! He'll get it soon enough!
*As you may have noticed... I cut my hair and lightened it a bit. I have a few bangs but they were on being uruly on Sunday so I just pulled them back. I am not sure about the new do. Nothing to write home about in my opinion...that is why I never did!

Frumps

I need help. I called and made an appointment for Friday with a random stylist at a decent salon because my regular girl is booked. (of course, I waited until the LAST second) Anyway, this is a little scary! But, I am desperate. I have the "post pregnancy hair falling out of my head in chunks" business going on. So my hair just feels stringy and gross. Not to mention my roots are a mile long.
Earlier today, I was feeling bold and wanted to walk in and tell Jenny to do anything she wants. But now I am starting to get cold feet. Do I keep it long? Cut it to my shoulders? Side-swept bangs? Go darker? Lighten it back up? Spiral perm? Okay...scratch the last one! :)

I need advice from anyone willing to give it! I have got to get out of this frumpy state I am in and I don't know what to do!
A little shorter than this is fine...

A little longer...

Now...

What do you think???

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 29 weeks old!!! My, oh my! We are almost into our 30's! This cannot be correct. Can it? Yes, it is. I went back and checked, just to be sure! What is happening to my tiny, preterm baby???

Crosby still has congestion in his sinuses this week. He isn't really coughing or sneezing all that much. He doesn't really have a runny nose. He has been in a great mood and is still sleeping like a champ. The only thing that is a little out of the ordinary is his appetite. I am having to work with him to take his full bottle. Not sure if that is because of his "cold" or if he is just not needing as much milk now that he is eating solids consistently. I put in a call to the doctor today because this has been nearly 2 weeks since it started. If he is still congested on Wednesday, we will pay Dr. P a visit to make sure there is no ear infection or anything else going on. I am hoping whatever it is will just clear up on it own.

Last week, Crosby had his first official visit to McDonald's. It seems like that is a "milestone" in the life of the American child. So, I had to take his picture. Blake wanted the "M" in the background but I wanted the focus to be on Crosby's face. Compromise with a shot of both...

Since he is eating solids, we decided to order a chicken nugget kids meal and pureed it for him. He LOVED it...

Sneaking up on him...
...as he attempts to escape his swing!!

Because Blake works most Saturdays :(, Crosby gets stuck going with me to all my girlie events!! Thankfully he doesn't notice he is the only male in a large group of females!! This Saturday, we got all dressed up and headed to a shower for Anne Claire and Baby Charlotte.

Meet Charlotte ...

Well, you can't really see her yet but she is in there!!! And set to make her debut in September. Maybe even on her Uncle Blake's birthday!!!
Anne Claire and Crosby...
He was wearing one of Blake's Feltman Brother's bubbles from when he was Crosby's age! How sweet is that??
Crosby was quite taken with this little one. Miss Averil, who was wearing an outfit her mommy wore when she was a little girl! How ironic! Apparently it was "wear your parent's old clothes day" and we didn't even know it!

"Mom, seriously. You have way too many pictures of me in this bouncy seat."

LOVES those hands...
And is becoming quite fond of his dog...
Telling me all about it...
Can you see it???? I'm telling you, it is coming!!! We are going to have to break out a brush soon!

He still enjoys the counter. Only, now, he prefers to sit up! He helped Blake clean the kitchen before his bath! What a good helper!

Nugget doesn't pay Crosby much attention at this point. Like I mentioned before, Crosby thinks Nugget is pretty neat. Initially, Nugs walked in front of Crosby and practically laid in his lap. Of course, I got up to get the camera and Nugget had to move. Can you tell he is being forced to reenact the loving moment?!! :)

And NO, I did not feed this baby McDonald's. Surly no one believed that nonsense!!!
