Mondays With Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 13 weeks old!!! My goodness, where has the time gone?? Yesterday was the 29th, which means Crosby in now 3 months old! Three whole months here with us. What a joy it has been!

On Saturday, we drove to the metropolis of Burns, Tennessee for his 3 month pictures. Calvert's Photography has been around since 1927 (I think). They do beautiful 3/6/9/12 panels. How I have longed for one of their panels on MY wall with MY baby in it!!! :) Crosby was being "Mr. Serious" so I am a little curious to see how this round turns out. I am sort of a picture snob. If they aren't up to par, I will have to take him back. It could be a dangerous cycle for me. All I need is 1 good picture. Let's keep our fingers crossed!! Here are a few I took...

Mr. Serious...

Just a really cute one...

Are we done yet??

Babe and mom...

My mom and mother-in-law accompanied us to the photo shoot. We went to Dickson afterward for a little shopping and lunch. Crosby was a trooper, seeing how this fell during both of his major nap times. He finally passed out a few miles from home. I have been told I should never wake a sleeping baby so I complied...

He slept that way for over an hour! :)

Believe it or not, it is that time again. We had to pose for perspective pictures yesterday evening. I think it will be pretty obvious that someone is chubbing up!!!

Compare to: 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 9 weeks

Crosby has really started to wake up this week. He it actually interacting with his activity mat now. He is aware that his arms are capable of moving the objects dangling over his head. He is finding that interesting and enjoys doing it over and over. He has also found himself in the mirror. I think he is pretty impressed with his looks because he stares for quite a while. One of my favorite "new tricks" is his lip smacking. It is pretty hilarious to watch him once he gets going. My goal is to catch that on video this week... He slept 7 hours one night this week but only once! He still likes to eat once or twice during the night. I would love for him to sleep through but I am willing to keep this up as long as he needs. We'll get there! Oh, the little guy was great on the flight back to Nashville. What a good baby. And to clear up a little confusion, the little gilr sitting by Blake on the plane was named Lucy. She fell asleep on his arm and he didn't want to move for fear he would wake her up. Such a considerate fellow!

As far as supply goes, thank you for all the comments and calls!! Medela and I are still friends...sort of. 4 oz every 3-4 hours isn't so bad. We will keep it up as long as we can. I am over stressing about it and have made peace with pumping. 3 months down! Hoping for 3 more if possible. 40+ bags in the freezer so I hope we can make it!

And finally a few cute shots to close out the post...

Mondays With Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 12 weeks old!!! This has been an exciting week in this little man's life. He was able to take his first bath without the infant hammock. He LOVED being immersed in the water. He just sat there, so relaxed. He kicked his hands and feet around, splashing water all over the place. There is nothing sweeter than the smell of a clean baby!

Second major accomplishment was the first nap WITHOUT being swaddled!! He slept in a sleep sack for 2 1/2 hours. I was so proud of him. It is not a consistent thing at this point, but we are trying it during some daytime naps. I would love to have him unswaddled soon!!

We watched a video called, "Night, Night" by Dr. Hull. It is supposed to help get babies into a good sleeping routine. I talked Blake into watching it with me one night and he had me start it the next day. All was going well until this happened...

That's right! Crosby has officially been on his first vacation. We boarded a plane on Saturday and headed to Orlando with the Malones. He was PERFECT for the flight down, which I was so nervous about. He drank a bottle as the plane took off, and slept the rest of the flight. I held him...

While Blake took care of little Lucy!!! She fell asleep on his arm and he couldn't move! She didn't make a sound the whole flight either.

Coming down the escalator in Orlando...
About to get in the car...

Crosby and his new friend in Downtown Disney...

Having dinner at Bahama Breeze...

And sorry if this is too graphic, but this picture cracks me up...no pun intended.; ) He was being bathed by Blake and Grandbuddy/Perd. He was as happy as could be!!!

So, technically speaking, this was the first Monday I have been WITHOUT Crosby for a large portion of the day. Blake and I spent the day at Animal Kingdom while he stayed with Lulu and Perd. We decided it might be asking too much of him to spend all day in a stroller or Baby Bjorn. Here are a few pictures of our day...

Animals...

The Tree of Life...
3-D glasses...
Bathroom break...uggghhhh ; )
Posing with Jiminy Cricket. I made Blake do this because he called Crosby "Lemony Snicket" when he was jaundiced. I thought the later was a nickname for Jiminy...apparently not!! I still wanted the picture!
Petting zoo...
Riding Primeval Whirl...
Riding Mt. Everest...

My pictures didn't turn out all that great because I only carried my point and shoot. I am so spoiled by my SLR. I just couldn't manage Medela and the Canon. Oh, well, you do what you've gotta do!!

We had a great day for sure. But I was thrilled to get back to the room to see this little face again...

Slideshow!!!

If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see some of the pictures from the day we came home. There are pictures of me seeing his room for the first time. We were waiting on the glider and a few other things at that time, but it was still an amazing moment for me. It is bittersweet to look back at the pictures of my tiny baby who is not so tiny anymore. I think I would have frozen that day for a year if I could have. Who am I kidding, I would love to freeze most of these days! Thank you for documenting January 4th so well, Jessica!! I love you dearly...

And just because I am so critical of myself in pictures...I really did do something to my hair before we left the hospital. Nasty weather sure left me looking as if I hadn't used a brush in years. Oh, well... Hopefully I am looking a little better these days! At least I should after I get my hair cut this afternoon! Hopefully you will just look at Crosby and his room rather than me!

Enjoy...

Mondays With Crosby

At 11:24 AM, Crosby Fox turned 11 weeks old. Can you tell how big he is???? The puppy scale reads 11 pounds, 6.5 ounces!!! So, he has officially doubled his birth weight!!! What a big boy we have. We bought our first box of Pampers Swaddlers size 1 this week. He was given a bag a while back and we started using them at the end of last week. There is a pretty big jump in fit from the newborns to size 1. He had to wear Huggies newborns for a few weeks because they were larger than the Pampers Newborns and smaller and the Pampers Size 1. I'll be honest, I am glad he is back in the Swaddlers. They are so soft and smell so sweet...when they are clean that is! :)

Crosby had his second play date. This time he hung out with an older woman named Mary Michael. She is 7 months old and such a happy girl.

"Miss Danielle, he is starting to cry! "

"It's okay, Crosby!! I'm here."

"See, I made him happy!!"

She was so proud of herself! :)

Believe it or not, Crosby cries! He has the hardest time somewhere between 6-9. I want him to stay up as late as possible so he can sleep when we do!!! But he still requires 3, 2-4 hour naps a day!! He is going for 4-5 hour stretches some nights so that is nice. According to his pediatrician, he will have to pack on a few more pounds before he will make it all night. He said around 14 pounds babies can maintain their blood sugar level, which will allow them to sleep for longer periods. We'll see soon enough!

Mr. Crabby Pants

Happy boy in milk heaven

He may not be the "natural way," but he loves it any way he gets it!!!!

Finally, Crosby made a special trip to Gadsden last weekend. We went to shower Corey's babies with lots of love. We can't wait to meet Davis Hawkins and Henley Louise! Just a few more weeks...
