Mondays with Crosby and Jane Claire

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 3 years and 18 weeks old!!!  At 1:03 pm, Jane Claire turned 4 weeks old!!!  Okay, seriously.  I know Crosby's first year went by lightning fast.  Is it possible Jane Claire's is going even faster???  I am thinking such is true!  The great news is Crosby is just as much in love with his sister as the day she was born.  (I had a sweet video of that precious day...)  He still thinks her head is the softest thing he has ever touched.  He tries to get anyone who meets her to feel for themselves.  Sweet girl has the greasiest head ever!  And I am realizing that we haven't been as good at bathing Little Miss!?!  Maybe she has had 5 baths in her 4 weeks!?!  Is that awful or what?  But she smells so baby sweet.  Seriously.  She does.  Maybe that is the joy of a baby that doesn't spit up!  Gonna work on that.  At least I admit my faults, right!

On Tuesday, we took the kiddos to the zoo.  Jane Claire was so very excited about the trip.  See...
Sweet girl slept the whole time!  What a dream baby.  Crosby, on the other hand, enjoyed himself thoroughly.  We made it to the gibbons and then decided to check out the new dinosaur exhibit.  This is one of the first we met...
I am thinking this one spit water all over us...
Good thing we were warned before hand.  I am pretty sure I would not have wanted Jane Claire to be slimed by that lovely creature!  Crosby, however, was thrilled to get wet!  He was a little apprehensive when I suggested he get out of the stroller to take a closer look.  Maybe you can tell...
Or maybe this picture gives it away...
You gotta give him credit.  It does look like the triceratops is very real and could possibly eat him for lunch!
Then the big boy came out (or maybe not since he is still clinging to Blake) and he offered a great big, new chipmunk smile...
Oh dear!  I just have to laugh.  It is either that or cry and I prefer to laugh!!  It is seriously the funniest, most awkward face I have ever seen...
Maybe he is trying to look like a T-Rex.  Kinda looks similar...
Not this angel so much...
After we left the dinosaur exhibit, we walked over to see the farm animals and had a little picnic lunch...
Jane Claire woke up and decided it was time to eat at that point.  We headed to the car while the boys went to the playground.  Looking back, I find it amusing that we only made it to the gibbons.  We usually make our way around most of the zoo.  Not today.  We saw the fake dinosaurs, gibbons and farm animals!  We rarely see the farm animals so I guess it was nice to pay them attention!   Fun times for our little family of 4!

I am not sure when I took this picture but it is so stinkin' cute of Miss Jane Claire...
Can't get enough of that wee one!!

On Saturday, we made the trip to Birmingham to celebrate Sam's birthday.  He had a soccer game at noon that we wanted to watch.  Unfortunately, Crosby was more interested in the playground than the soccer game.  So I manned the 3 year old while Blake watched Sam in action.  Needless to say, I got no pictures of him on the field.  :(  We did pull out the camera for his mini party...
Lulu wasn't able to make the trip but she sent delish cupcakes for everyone to enjoy.  The sports balls were donut holes covered in icing.  Yummo!!!  Does Sam not look so big?!?  He is such a sweet kid.  And he looks a lot like Uncle Blake in their matching glasses!  I was feeding little bit so I missed out on the singing of the birthday song.  But I am pretty sure that is what was happening here...
Crosby was pretty excited about his cupcake...
He was even more excited about "helping" Sam open his gifts.  You know, because Sam "needed" help!
Woah!!  An X-Box...
More gift opening with Gid helping too!
Crosby came out wearing a Darth Vader mask.  He doesn't even know who Darth Vader is but he thought he looked pretty cool...
Sam showing off the Chelsea jersey we gave him.  He was so excited!  And how funny that he already HAD and was WEARING the matching shorts!  Pretty perfect...
I am not sure who this guy is?!?  (we aren't into Star Wars just yet)  Crosby has no clue either!  It mattered not.  He was feeling pretty cool in the mask regardless...
Malone squeezing on Sam's cheeks!  Such sweet cousin love...
Jane Claire at 4 weeks!!!  Isn't she looking so big?!?
We just love her to pieces.  Her big brother especially...
Melt my heart, these two children I have been blessed with...

Mondays with Crosby and Jane Claire

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 3 years and 17 weeks old!!!  At 1:03 pm, Jane Claire turned 3 weeks old!!!  My goodness.  Three weeks have FLOWN by and it is all pretty much a blur!  Crazy!  This baby girl is just precious.  She sleeps most of the time, waking up to eat every 3, sometimes 4 hours.  And then she heads back to dream!  We only get to see those eyes every now and then if we are lucky. She is still in that sleepy phase.  So sweet...

Something happened to the weather this week.  It went from being nice and warm to quite chilly!  For fun, I pulled out this little premie outfit we borrowed from Melissa's Wells...
Our not-so-premie little girl barely fit into it!  The arms and legs were really too short!  We didn't go anywhere with it on but it was fun to play dress up.  Crosby got a big kick out of it anyway!!  I am pretty sure the next picture proves Jane Claire was not as fond of the idea as he was...
And there is that blasted smile again!!!  He now claims Uncle Justin told him to smile that way!?!  Justin denies it.  I think he actually did but this was NOT what he had in mind.  On Easter, we were trying to get him to smile for the cousins picture.  Justin told him, "Show your teeth!!"  And this is what resulted!  Lovely.  I told Justin I will make sure I teach Harper the same trick when she is his age!! ;-)

We had a visit from the lovely Norman ladies (and babies Henry and William, not pictured).  Jill is another faithful follower.  I have to share her picture any time I can!  Say hello Jill!  It has been a while...
Blake had to work on Saturday.  Melissa brought her kiddos over to play.  Crosby and Margaret always have such a great time together.  They (my guess it was really Crosby's doing) came up with the idea to slide like a train.  Crosby said they "were making a caboose."

Ready!
 Set!
 GOOOOOO...
 OOOOOO....
 OOOOOO!!!!
 Now crack up laughing hysterically!!!
Miss Moo looking so presh and all grown up!!
Somebody attempting to hide from the camera.  Of course.
Then it turned into a fun game...
 Silly kiddos!
On Monday, I dropped Crosby off at school, only to return an hour later for a parent-teacher conference.  Now of course, we all think our children are the best children ever.  But the teachers confirmed it!  Crosby IS the best kid ever!!!! No. I jest.  Sort of.  They did give a great report on our little fella and it just made my heart swell.  He is such a good boy. And not because of anything we did. We just got really lucky!  God blessed us with a fun-loving, outgoing, fearless, social, kind-hearted little boy.  Oh how we love Crosby Fox.  His teachers do too!  There are a few things we need to work on for next year including fine motor skills and potty training.  And I would like to say goodbye to Bubba!!  Looks like we will have a fun summer!

While Brother was at school, Jane Claire and I took a few pictures.  I got a few sweet ones...

Love those little feet...
 Little angel...
Baby girl perched atop an old tennis ball basket...
We attempted to give Jane Claire her very first bottle tonight...
Not so much...
(hello flash!)  It is not that she refused it.  She just lost lots of milk, which pains me to watch.  That stuff isn't easy to come by!!!  We need to keep working on that I suppose.
Sweet brother and sister.  And, as usual, Crosby doesn't want to have his picture taken!
 Jane Claire at 3 weeks...

Such a big girl!!! ;-)

Mondays with Crosby and Jane Claire

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 3 years and 16 weeks old!!!  At 1:03 pm, Jane Claire turned 2 weeks old!!  Technically speaking, the above picture is from Monday night of last week and should have been included in last weeks post.  I forgot about all of the pictures I have taken with my phone over the past 2 weeks.  Some that are pretty sweet!  So I just had to share that one first!  And maybe a few more...

Me and Jane Claire the day she was born...
The proud (tired) parents with their little girl...
Little Miss all cuddled up with me on our first day at home...
I have LOTS more to share!  I think I am going to have to do a cell phone photo dump day.  Maybe one of these years I will get around to it.  After losing that precious video, I need to do it sooner rather than later.  Sigh.  I don't know that I am going to get over that one any time soon...

On Tuesday, I went to lunch with a Melissa and Joanna to celebrate Melissa's birthday.  I took Jane Claire with me and Blake stayed home with Crosby.  I got a text from Blake showing off Crosby's Auto Mall...
Crosby was in heaven.  They had a little figurine they used as the salesman.  I hear the stories they came up with were pretty creative!  I say this definitely earned Blake the "Dad of the Day" award.  Maybe even the week!!  Too bad it was right in the middle of the living room floor!  ;-)  As long as they had a good time...

Jane Claire got a sweet gift from a friend that day.  I looked over to find someone else modeling HER clothes...
Oh dear!  Gonna keep this one for blackmail later in life!  What a silly boy.

On Wednesday, Jane Claire and I traveled with Justin, Katie and Harper to Dalton, Georgia to be with our family.  We learned on Easter Sunday that my dear Uncle Ken passed away.  Uncle Ken, Aunt Dot, Leah and Laura are so precious to our family.  Aunt Dot is one of the most faithful followers of my blog.  It wanted to be with our family as we said good bye to such a gracious man.  After speaking with Dr. B and the pediatrician, I felt comfortable making the trip.  It was so nice to hug the necks of my aunt and cousins.  I hate our visit was so short and for such a difficult occasion but I was glad we were able to attend.  And I am glad Harper and Jane Claire were perfect angels the whole day.

While Crosby was in school, I made myself take the camera out and take a few pictures of sweet Jane Claire.  I dressed her in a gown Crosby wore when he was a little fella.  Melt my heart...  She looked just as sweet in it...
Squirmy worm managed to get her feet out from under the gown!
Doll face...
So sweet...
I could just eat her up!!
Sonja came up to visit on Friday.  She took some pictures of Little Miss take as well.  She gave her this adorable diaper cover to wear during her photo shoot...
Gotta love a monogrammed bum!!  Oh my goodness, there are some A.DOR.ABLE. pictures from that day.  But I can't share those just yet!  Soon... :-)

I pulled the camera out again that night and took pictures of my girl in another one of favorites of Crosby's sweet gowns.  She looks so much like her brother in this picture...
I think they have the same mouth and chin...
I am pretty sure it is not the smile...
Heavens to Betsy!!!  Where did this new smile come from???
He has been doing this A LOT lately and I am not sure what to do about it!  I think he has forgotten how to do a normal smile.  Poor thing looks like a chipmunk...
I mean, really???
He is the most adorable boy I have ever laid eyes on.  But this smile just doesn't do him justice!  If you know any tricks to correct this, do share!!!  For now, I will just have to cringe over all pictures I suppose!
We had pictures taken with a photographer on Saturday.  I am just praying there is at least ONE without the chipmunk smile.  We shall see...

Jane Claire had her second appointment with Dr. Patton today.  Because her bilirubin level was a little high last week, I was eager to see how much weight she gained.  I knew that weight gain would mean she was eating well enough to help flush her system of excess bilirubin.  Over the course of the week, I really tried to make sure she was eating every 2-3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night.  She had also been pooping like a champ, which was also an encouraging sign!  They weighed her right off the bat and the results were great.  She was up to 7 pounds, 6 ounces and 20 inches long!  Dr. Patton was quite pleased.  He even asked me when we noticed her improved skin coloring.  Of course, seeing her every day, I wasn't sure if she looked less jaundiced or not.  Apparently she does! It was just the two of us since Crosby was at school and Blake was at work.  These are the only pictures we got from her 2 week appointment...
Snuggle time with my naked baby...
We rounded out the day with 2 week pictures...
She is still all balled up like a tiny babe.  I just love a tiny babe...
I have been blessed with 2 of the sweetest, most precious babes...
