Mondays with Crosby and Jane Claire

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 3 years and 30 weeks old!!! At 1:03pm, Jane Claire turned 17 weeks old!!!  Her 4 month birthday is just around the corner.  What?  Can. Not. Believe. It.   And to think, I still haven't posted pictures of her BEAUTIFUL room.  Maybe I will put away all the clothes I am sorting through so I can take pictures.  And then post them.  And our family pictures from when she was a tee tiny baby.  I need to get on it.  Maybe this will be the week...

On to the past week.  The church organized a preschool play day at Cumberland Park.  I had been wanting to go since it opened but had yet to make it there.  I was thrilled to finally have a reason to go.  And what a fabulous little splash pad it is!! Crosby had a grand ole time...

All the kiddos having a blast!!!

Sweet Jane Claire hanging out on her blanket...
Preciousness...
Meanwhile, the wild man was ALL OVER the place...
Kara and I ordered matching swimsuits for our boys last year.  I am glad we finally got a picture of them wearing them!!!
All THREE boys!!!
I had to let Jane Claire put her feet in the water...

Crazy to think she will be all over the place next year...
Seesawing with Mommy!
On Friday, we went for another swim with Margaret.  I happened to be the opening day for the 2012 Summer Olympics!!  We love the Olympics around here.  While we were painting with watercolors, I attempted the Olympic rings.  Then Crosby made some too!  I was pretty impressed with his skills.  Here are a couple of future swimmers showing off the rings...while yelling, "OLYMPICS!!!!!"

So sweet and innoccent...
Lots of laughter and smiles...
And...
Holy Moly!!!!  What in the world just happened???  My goodness that looks a little too intense wouldn't you say!??!  We seriously may have trouble on our hands... ;-)

They are just too cute!
I was taking a shower this morning.  Jane Claire was in her bed but I expected her to wake up at any moment.  I told Crosby to let me know if he heard her crying.  Of course as soon as I had soap on my head, he came in to tell me she was.  He said he would go talk to her for me and I hurried to get out.  I threw on a robe an ran into her room to find this...
Ummmm.  Not exactly what I had in mind there!  It was pretty cute nonetheless.  She was so happy to have her bubba, well, both of them!  She just grinned at him when he talked.  I think she is just as smitten with him as he is with her.  LOVE it!  My sweet, sweet girl...
And my crazy, crazy but oh so loving boy!
I could just eat them up!
Jane Claire at 17 weeks...
She is starting to look SOOO big!!!
I introduced her to her feet.  They are now the best of friends.  She tries to grab them all of the time.  When they finally connect, she flashes the biggest grin.  So proud of herself.  She has also started to find her voice.  Her little coos are about the sweetest thing I have ever heard.  Makes this momma smile every time I hear her.  I will end on a precious note and let you see what I am talking about...

Mondays with Crosby and Jane Claire

At ll:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 3 years and 29 weeks old!!!  At 1:03 pm, Jane Claire turned 16 weeks old!!!  We had a fun week but I don't have much proof by way of pictures.  I only picked up the camera a time or two.  As Crosby likes to say, "That's okay, Mommy!"

On Tuesday night, the big boys played soccer while LeAnne and I stayed home with the little ones.  We snapped a few pictures of Sweet Pea in the bath tub that just melt my heart.

"Is that my Mommy's voice??"
 "Oh yea!  That's her alright!"
And then she flashed the most precious smile I ever did see...
"Did you get that one, LeAnne?"
There is just nothing like sweet baby smiles.  Or clean baby smells. Or clean baby pictures!

Lulu made more matching clothes for Crosby and Jane Claire.  You can't tell in the pictures so much, but Crosby had shorts made out of the same gingham fabric as Jane Claire's dress.  They looked adorable together.  I had to make an attempt to capture the cuteness...

Well, they were sort of looking...
Just look at that doll face...
 Almost there...

Oh dear.  Now he is being all Chatty Cathy and she is scared out our of her mind, worried that he is going to drop her!!  Can you blame her!!! ;-)
Finally he gets all sweet faced and she throws her hands in the air and surrenders!
One day.  One day I will get a great picture of these two siblings!

And this is how I bribed him to sit still long enough to actually take a picture!
I promised we could sit on the construction equipment by Publix.  He was thrilled and ran right out the door for pictures.  I should specify more on the quality of pictures next time, huh?!?  ;-)
And here is Jane Claire at 16 weeks...
I would have taken more but my camera battery died after the first shot.  Good thing it turned out decent.  This is pretty accurate, as she LOVES chewing on her hands right now.  They are constantly in her mouth when she is awake.

I am still working on getting her in her bed.  I would say she has only made it half the night in her bed.  Truth be told, I  have only made it half a night with her in the crib!  It is just so easy to have here right beside me.  That and I don't want to get out of my war bed to visit her meat locker of a room!!!  She is in her bed as I type so we will see how tonight goes...

Mondays with Crosby and Jane Claire

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 3 years and 28 weeks old!!!  At 1:03 pm, Jane Claire turned 15 weeks old!!!  It has been another fun but busy week.  If you aren't from around here, you may or may not know that we have been experiencing extreme heat and no rain.  100+ degree weather will force you to stay put inside the air conditioned house for sure.  Not so fun!  Thankfully, the past week consisted of lots and lots of wonderful rain.  Yes, I am thankful for the rain.  And yes, that statement alone officially makes me old!  You never want rain when you are young...  Anyway, the rain kept us inside quite a bit this week but the clouds parted just when we needed it to!  More on that in a bit.  First things first.  My tee tiny newborn baby girl had her 3 month pictures on Friday morning...
How is this even possible??  I have no clue either!  She was the perfect doll baby and just flashed the biggest grin for every picture.  I cannot wait to get the proofs in the mail.  I know...proofs and mail!  Seems archaic, no.  Well that is Calvert's for you and I LOVE that place.  Nothing like medium format photography.  I also had a picture of Crosby with his little sister.  I may have stooped to the level of bribery to get him to participate.  Being able to listen to Phil Collins may or may not have been involved.  Do you even know about his love for Phil??  Hmmm.  We'll touch on that more in a bit too!  Anyway, he was just precious.  I told him I wanted to see a sweet smile, not the chipmunk.  He kept looking at me and trying his best to smile without making that silly face. "Is this how to smile, Mommy??" Just precious that sweet boy.  Even if it was for the love of Phil!  I am hoping we got one of BOTH of them looking angelic.  Fingers crossed!

My little bitty went down for a nap after her photo shoot.  Exhausting, right!?!  When she woke up, I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of her precious face...
I mean seriously.  She is to die for...
So I guess I will pause to elaborate on Crosby's latest obsessions.  I have already mentioned Phil.  He LOVES the greatest hits album.  He LOVES that it is live.  He LOVES that there are a million instruments played in each song.  He feels just as strongly about Chicago's greatest hits album.  LOVES it.  He sings their songs constantly.  It cracks me up to hear him sing what he thinks they are saying.  I am no master at lyrics so I guess he gets it honestly!  The child is serious about some music right now.  He even closes his eyes and  feels the music with the slower tunes.  He encourages us to clothes our eyes too!!  Hilarious.  Apparently he does the same in Preschool Praise at church!!  And he loves to play "instruments" on everything.  The table is a drum.  His arm is a guitar.  Too funny!!  He is so serious about wanting to take guitar lessons from his super cool uncle Jeremy.  One day!  He will just settle with CD's and YouTube videos for now!

On Friday afternoon, we headed to Columbia.  We stopped at my parents house first and hung out a bit.  Crosby and Jane Claire read a few books with Gee Gee while I cooked a few things for dinner...
Would you look at those lashes.  And the bubbles!!! ;-)
After dinner and dessert were ready, we all headed over to the Malone's house for a Lipscomb, Malone, Norman, Cyr family gathering!  Someone was excited to be in the pool for the first time all week...
Little Miss was content to watch everyone else swimming from in the comfort of Pop's lap...
My stars, she is a beauty...
 Charlie and Johnny...
Miss Scout...
Sweet Cora...
Johnny and John...
 Mom, Jaime and Cora...
Would you just look at the faces on these kiddos!  Not sure what Crosby and Charlotte were eyeing but  it sure seems they are up to no good!!
Me and Jaime with our babes.  Mascara would have been a good idea on my part...
Are Lucy's stairs not the cutest things you have ever seen???  We had the kiddos sit on the step that had their age on it.  I should have stuck Jane Claire at the bottom of the stairs with Malone but she was worn out.  It turned out to be such a fun picture...
We had a great time visiting with John, Jaime and the kiddos before he had to fly back home.  Luckily, we get Jaime and the kids one more week!  Love those Normans to pieces.  Why does Twentynine Palms have to be so far away...

On Sunday, our life group met at Jenny's parents house for a little swim.  Jane Claire spent the first part of the evening in the bouncey seat looking so sweet...
Blake and Crosby headed straight for the rocks.  Wonder whose idea that was...
And Blake had to take the danger level up another notch!  Sigh...
Pool full of friends...
Still hanging out in the bouncey seat...
I put her in the pool but the water was a tad cool for her liking.  So we headed to the hot tub and she was a fan.  She couldn't even take her eyes off of all the bubbles... (and for the record, it wasn't very hot)
After her little dip, she passed out!  I just love how she is filling out these days.  Except for the fact that means she is growing and we all know I don't want her to do all of that!!!
Everyone managed to gather in the hot tub at the end of the evening...
We had a great night hanging out with our life group.  What special relationships we are forming with these families.  And how precious to see our kiddos love on each other.  This is what fellowship is all about!  Thank God for these families!

Unfortunately, the night ended with a bit of a bang for us.  Shortly after this picture was taken, Crosby slipped and knocked his mouth on the rocks.  Initially, we didn't think much of it.  No blood.  All teeth were present.  But a few minutes later, with tears still flowing, Crosby complained of something in his mouth.  A chip of his tooth was on his tongue...
The bottom and back of his front right tooth was missing!  Of course I freaked out when Blake came to tell me.  And of course it was right in front of Crosby, which only made him cry even harder!! Seriously, I am such a spaz when it comes to injuries.  Why can I not remain calm??  Dear me.

So today, we took our first trip to the dentist.  Our neighbor, Mileah is a hygienist and we have been saying we would go see her all summer long.  This just forced us to follow through.  Crosby was SUCH a big boy and did not get scared at all...
He just opened his mouth and let the dentist file his tooth a bit.  And then he let Mileah clean away...
Look at that big boy!!!
Took it like a champ!
He even got to keep his special sun glasses!
And we left with a little less jagged of a right front tooth!  Could have been waaay worse!
He did say he doesn't like "that sucker thing you close your mouth on"!!  You sure couldn't tell at the time!  Hopefully we won't be making any emergent trips to the dentist any more.  Regular cleanings will be just fine.  Now if Blake and I will just make our appointments...

Jane Claire's excitement of the day was find that her new friend came in the mail!  Sophie the Giraffe now lives in our home.  The word on the town is that every baby needs a Sophie.  We wouldn't want her to miss out now would we?!?
And here she is at 15 weeks...
Would you look who is in this one?!?!  He is wild...
And you saw the best one I got of both of them!  Good grief... :-)  And I almost forgot some exciting news for any parent of a young babe.  Somebody gets credit in my book for sleeping through the night, twice, last week!!!  We all got to bed late on Friday night after driving back from Columbia.  I fed her and put her down sometime around 11:00.  We all managed to wake up around 8-8:30.  You can imagine my shock to realize it was not time for our usual 3:00/4:00 meal time!  Same thing happened Saturday night.  She got to bed much earlier but I fed her last around 10:30.  She made it until 7:00 ish. Granted I did stick the pacifier in her mouth once!  She was back to the usual on Sunday night but that is fine by me!  At least she is capable and we are only getting up once at this point.  And of course I am the crazy mom that doesn't know if I want her to sleep through the night because that makes her too big!  I like having my tiny baby that needs me because she is so tiny...

And in other exciting news, I have a hair appointment at studio El.Ev.En with EVE on Thursday!!  Oh how excited I am about it!  I am ashamed to say I haven't had my hair touched since my birthday, March 15th.  That is a LONG time and it shows.  I even sacrificed my head for Sesame Street live in this condition.  What a great mom, right?!?  ;-) I am currently in the postpartum state where you lose hair by the wigs-worth on a daily basis.  My ends are split.  My roots are a half mile long.  But have no fear. All will be cured on Thursday at noon!  Well, I don't think she can do anything about the wig shop but she can manage the rest!  I'm thinking it is going to be a good week!!!
