4 Months Old

Look who is officially 4 months old!! I took his "Perspective Pictures" this morning. He has changed so much since we started taking them.
Of course, Nugget had to get right in the middle of things!
He needs to feel special too!
He looks so big sitting in his chair with his bear...
Caught him sneezing!!
What a face!
He has the Malone hands for sure...
Sweet feet...His that is!! Mine desperately need some attention...
So happy about taking pictures...
I put the head support in its original position so you could see the big difference! We have had to move it up a notch!! Technically, he doesn't even need it. But I like it there so it's staying!
And this is what he is doing as I type. We had a change of clothing since the photo shoot. I want him to wear the other tomorrow. Can you see where he had his shots?

:( At least he doesn't seem to mind!

Movin' On Up

The percentile charts, that is!! Crosby weighed in at 13 pounds 4 ounces. Too bad the nurse put that he was 13 pounds 8 ounces on his chart!!! That number had him in the 25th percentile. Technically speaking, he is not quite there but I am too lazy to do the math to figure out where he really is. So we will just go with what we've got! :) Seeing how he was only in the 8th percentile at his 2 month appointment, we are doing pretty good any way you look at it! He is currently 24.75 inches in length, which has him in the 46th percentile. That is only up 1% since February, as he was already in the 45th. And that little noggin of his is catching up as well. He had the largest jump there, moving from the 5th percentile to the 25th percentile.

As for his shots...they weren't nearly as bad as I was anticipating! Thank you Lord for sparing me heartache!!! He didn't seem to notice the first one and started to cry after the second. However, we were armed with bottle in hand, which soothed him almost immediately! Boy am I glad to have that behind us. We don't go back until he is 6 months...and I am realizing I forgot to make that appointment...

We got the all clear to introduce rice cereal. Fortunately for us, the Easter Bunny left a box in his basket! I am not sure how to work that into the mix. How much? In the morning or at night? Is it better to wait until 5 months...6 months? Of course I want to do everything just right. I have a little research to do on that one. Feel free to share your ideas/schedule/etc!!!

And, not to jinx things, but we have had 3 nights in a row of 10 hour sleep. Not me...but for Crosby. I have been getting 5-6 a least! He hardly napped today so I am thinking it is looking good for a 4th night. Come on Crosby...you can do it!!!! ...even though that is a long time to go without holding him in my arms... :)

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 17 weeks old!!! We are 2 days shy of his 4 month birthday. I cannot believe my tiny baby is almost 4 months old. Well, I guess he is not so tiny anymore. And I have proof below!! Crosby is still talking up a storm. It is the cutest thing I have ever heard. He actually wakes up taking most of the time now. I prefer his sweet little voice over a cry!
We are in somewhat of a clothing dilemma. I had to pull out some of his summer clothes due to the warm weather we have been having. I laughed as I grabbed a 6-9 month outfit, thinking, "This will be huge!!" Well, apparently Crosby has my torso because I barely got the thing snapped at the bottom!! He has plenty of room in the sides but none in the length. I guess we can just leave everything unbuttoned!!!

Crosby went to his first festival this weekend. Blake had to work on Saturday. :( So Crosby and I met Carina and Greta in Franklin for the Main Street Festival. Good thing we got there early! Not only did it get pretty crowded, it was a scorcher!! I set out with 2 goals in mind: getting Crosby's silhouette and having his hand casted. Mission accomplished!!

Posing perfectly while Igor cut out his silhouette...
Carina holding Greta for her silhouette...
***No...Carina and I do not have poor circulation in our legs. Once again, my camera was on some weird setting and our legs are all discolored. Fortunately I got that taken care of...
The little ones during a bathroom break...
Crosby getting his hand casted...

The finished product...
Wouldn't you know, I broke his pinkie off as soon as I pulled in the garage. Whammed the bag against the gear shift when taking it out of the car. Thankfully, the break was clean and right at the PIP joint (for those who know where that is...:)) I called the makers of the casts and they would have done another one free of charge. But super glue did the trick and you can't tell it was ever damaged. I was still mad at myself. What a klutz...

We had small group at the park last night. Of course I had to take the camera. I didn't take that many pictures but Moriah did! I will have to post hers when I get them. She got some great shots!
Attempting to get the whole family in a picture...Nugget wasn't feeling it...

I could eat him up...

I mean, could he be more beautiful???

I have been needing to put Crosby's clean sheets on his bed. But he is always IN the bed when my hands are free. Today I solved that problem by letting him nap in a our bed. It was a funny sight seeing that tiny head peeking out from the covers...

He wasn't asleep very long. I walked by and saw two feet sticking straight up in the air!! :) He saw me and a huge gummy, grin was to follow. I can't resist that smile so I had to go and get him.
See, he isn't so tiny. Crosby's got rolls!!!!!
He is already trying to stand up on me.
I am completely and utterly in LOVE with this baby. I can't get enough of him. He slept really well this weekend...9 hours 2 nights in a row. By the time morning rolled around, I could barely keep myself from waking him up. I just needed to hold him. It had been WAY too long since he had been in my arms!
Tomorrow is his 4 month doctors appointment. I am eager to see where he falls on the percentile charts these days. I am thinking he has caught up significantly. I am DREADING his shots. It is one thing to hear him cry when he is fussy. But it is another thing to hear him cry when he is in pain. Lord give me strength to make it through his appointment without falling apart... :(
Will update with his stats tomorrow. Then perspective pictures on Wednesday!!!

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 16 weeks old!!! What a big boy. We didn't make it to the clinic for a weight check this week. However, my arms are telling me his has gained a few ounces at least! He is really starting to give me an arm workout!!

Someone must of told Crosby we were getting spoiled with his great sleeping streak. He quickly put a stop to that!!! He went from sleeping 8-10 hours to waking every 3-4 hours again! I had a feeling sleepFULL nights wouldn't last long. You can't blame one for hoping though. So, for now, we are back to sleepLESS nights!!

We got to see Miss Margaret Belle on Saturday. She is almost 9 pounds now. It is amazing how tiny that feels compared to Crosby!! She is a little doll. I loved getting my hands on her...

I forgot what it was like to hold a baby in one arm. As you can see below, Crosby definitely requires 2 arms!!!

In an attempt to encourage a longer stretch of sleep that night, I tried to keep Crosby awake and entertained in the great outdoors. Really, it was just an excuse to get some pictures of him in one of my most FAVORITE outfits. I got it from Itty Bitty in Columbia. Personally speaking...I don't think it can get much cuter than this. And I am definitely NOT biased...

Is he delicious or what???

For whatever reason, I am really fond of the "Soothie" pacifier. Yes, they are turquoise. Yes, they take up their entire face. Yes, there is no easy way to attach a pacifier clip to them. But I loved them. I knew Baptist gave them out to their newborns and was thrilled when Crosby got his very own. We tried and tried to get him to take it to no avail. We had been given a NUK pacifier from the church at the Baby Blessing. He seemed to like it but gagged on it when I stuck it in his mouth. So, I wasn't sure about that. I finally gave in and bought 3 other brands. Surely off the three, one would work! Jackpot!!!!!

I happened to notice the NUK for his age was about half the size of the one we had at home!!! Ahhhh, that explains the gagging. He may be growing fast but he is clearly not 18 months old... When you get the age appropriate size, he LOVES it!!! We love that he loves it. Now I am just trying to decide what to call it. I know, silly. I don't really like "pacie." Blake's called his a "bubba." Just for fun, I need options...

Crosby has also become more interested in his videos. He just happened to be watching his Praise Baby DVD. He likes Baby Mozart and Baby Beethoven as well. We just set his swing up in front of the TV and he is mesmerized for nearly the full 30 minutes!!! I am quite jealous of his movie seat. If they made this swing in my size I would have it in a heartbeat. It just looks awesome to me!!!

Finally, you must prepare yourself for one of the most adorable videos yet!!! I will let it "speak for itself".... (I have no idea why the screen has a red hue. It starts out normal but then gradually turns red. Any Canon Powershot users who know what button I have accidentally pushed, please share. My baby does NOT look like a lobster...)

Crosby learned he can vocalize today. And he has been doing this ALL DAY LONG!!! I can't get enough of hearing that sweet little voice. He paused in the middle until Nugget walked up. Then he started going again. Is that not to die for???? I am so in love with this baby...
And... Happy Birthday, Lulu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And...Corey will have Davis and Henley in her arms tomorrow!!!! She was scheduled to have them on Wednesday but they bumped it up due to Henley's low fluid level. Please pray for a safe delivery and 2 healthy babies tomorrow morning!!!

Mondays With Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 15 weeks old!!! I took him to the clinic this afternoon just for this post. When I plopped him on the scale, it settled on 13 pounds even. My arms have been wearing out lately!! Now I know why. But I do have to admit I had just given him 4 ounces of milk. Soooo, give or take a little if you would like!

Crosby went to his first Easter egg hunt on Saturday with his cousins. Sam and Gid did most of the hunting for Crosby while he had his bottle! :) They were sweet to share their eggs with him. He enjoyed being outside in the nice weather. It was a great afternoon!

Picture with the Easter Bunny...

Just hanging out...

Full belly...

Crosby with his basket...

Lap full of eggs...

Lulu had an Easter basket for Crosby. He got a cap with an elephant on it, a musical Peter Cottontail book, stationery, a onesie, a little lamb bag and candy, which I may have accidentally eaten!

Look what the Easter Bunny left for Crosby! He went with practical items like rice cereal, bowls for rice cereal, a book on the true meaning of Easter, swimming diapers, a summer outfit and car seat toys!

We went to church Sunday morning at Otter Creek. It was a packed house and such a wonderful service. Afterward, the Lipscomb crew had a delicious brunch at the Copper Kettle. We spent a little time at Justin and Katie's house afterward.
An attempt at a family photo...

Grammy and Pop gave Crosby another Easter basket with a book and 2 outfits inside. He is one loved baby!! This was his first time meeting Elmo. I think he liked what he saw...

Pop brought back a seersucker jumper from the practice rounds of The Masters. This is a BIG DEAL when you come from a family of golf addicts!!! You can't tell in the picture but the buttons are golf balls! So cute! The other outfit matches the cap Lulu gave him. It is precious, too...

Maybel licking his toes...

We headed to Anne Claire and Jeremy's afterwards to spend the rest of the day with the Malone crew. I will have to update with those pictures this week. My hands were full so I didn't get any pictures. But Lulu did!!
On another note, Crosby had a few great nights this week!!! Saturday, Blake, Crosby and I took a little trip to Cool Springs. After dinner at Genghis Grill and a quick trip to the mall, we got back home around 9:00. Baby boy was bathed and in bed by 10:00. I didn't hear a peep out of him until 6:15 Sunday morning!! Too bad I woke up at 3:00, worried that milk I had out would go bad! Fortunately, I feel back asleep quickly. I felt SO rested when I woke up Sunday morning. It felt wonderful!!!
THEN, Crosby really didn't get a good nap on Sunday. We finally got him bathed and in bed last night around 8:15. I didn't not hear from him until 6:15! 10 whole hours!!!! What a big boy!!! Too bad I had a hard time falling asleep and then woke up worried that I should pump and take out a new bottle. Oh well!! At least I got one good night. I am most excited that he had 2 in a row.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for tonight but I am kind of doubting it! Crosby had several good naps and wasn't being pumped with milk all day long! I'm thinking I am going to have to keep my schedule full everyday if I want him to sleep all night!!! :)
