18 months

I can't believe my boy is a year and half! Where has time gone??? For old times sake, I thought I would attempt perspective pictures to document the occasion. As you will see, things didn't go very well... Yep. That was as good as it got. This is what he did over and over...

And over...
Until I got smart! At least he found my foot hold funny. Seriously, it is the ONLY way you can keep the child still...
Crosby and his bear, in his chair (with distraction objects A , old phone and B, the Bible)...
Crosby rocking with his bear in his chair, losing object B. Forgive him...
Really getting into the rocking part...

Concerned that distraction object A was now rocked out of the chair...

So I picked object B up. Too bad he was already attacking the poor bear...
And really seems to enjoy doing so!!! Yikes...

Let's just hide behind the bear, why don't we???

On to the mug shot. This was the best I got. Looks like he was smiling, huh? Don't be fooled. It was mid cry that looks like a smile!
This is more like it...
I mean seriously???? Can my lap be this horrible to sit in for all of 10 seconds??? Or even shorter if someone would just cooperate...
Honestly, the drama is hilarious...
So we move on to our feet...
Looks like moving feet. Really, it is just one arm holding a squirmy child while the other is holding the camera. I suppose I need to pull out the tripod for this one now...

So what about the pictures of Nugs with Crosby? He's not crazy. Nugget opted out of the photo shoot this time a stayed out in the hall. And can you blame him??
It is so much fun to hear the new words Crosby says. He listens to everything we say now and tries to repeat us all the time. These are just a few of the words I can think of hearing over the past few months...
Truck (about a MILLION times), Daa, cat, dog, ball, car, hot, cold, danger, elevator, help, please, I love you, Pop, side (outside), okra, buh buh (bubba), buh (banana), juice, milk, garbage truck, corn, up, down, ball cap, all done, amen, "splat splat splat" (Dr. Seuss), go, yuck, wet, Elmo, Bert.
I might have to add a few as I think of them for my records! Sorry if you have google reader! :)
He eats like a champ. Pretty much anything and everything. Doesn't like eggs though. Scrambled, fried. Don't know about poached. And is a little scared of the popsicle. I think the extreme cold throws him off and makes him cry a little. He did overcome that problem with Las Paletas the other night so maybe we are beyond that now!
He is still in a size 4 diaper and wears a wide varietly of sizes. Some 18 month, some 24 month some 2T. There are even a few pairs of shorts that are 6-12 and 12-18 month. Go figure! It all depends on the brand. Most Jon Jons are 24 month or 2T because of that torso of his. He is wearing size 5 shoe at the moment but I image they would say a size 6 if we went to Lonnie Young today!
He has 12 teeth in that mouth of his and likes to touch ours! He weighs in at 24.4 pounds on our scale. I am thinking he has weighed the same thing for months now. He seems a good bit taller but who knows. We go for his 18 month appointment on July 13th so we will see then. He will be getting 3 shots that day so I do not look forward to that visit AT ALL!
Crosby is an active little fella these days. It can be pretty stressful at times. Like, in a store, at a restaurant, at the pool. We have our share of tantrums and are trying to figure out this whole discipline business. Overall, it is a COMPLETE joy to be Crosby's mom. What an amazing 18 months this has been. I LOVE YOU (or as he would say IUUUGGGHHEWWE :) ) Crosby Fox Malone!!!

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 1 year and 26 weeks old!!! He will be 18 months old at 11:24am tomorrow!?!?! I won't even go there. I am sure you can fill in the blanks for me...

Can you see why today has been exceptionally hectic? Crosby gets to share the spotlight with cutie patooties Davis and Henley! That is right, the Gants and one of the Hawkins came up for a visit. Needless to say, our hands have been pretty full over the past 24 hours! Full, but oh, so much fun! It is hard enough to take pictures of 1 child. Throw 2 more in there and it is pretty much impossible. The only pictures I have taken of the 3 of them where when they were confined to the tub! I will have to do better tomorrow! This is them at bath time last night...

Davis, Crosby and Henley...
He didn't know what to do with himself when he had the tub to himself again...
He just stretched out and let the bubbles take him away!

Crosby had a big ole time with the grandparents today. We spent the night at Lulu and Perd's and spent the morning running around Columbia. Then I left him with my parents to nap while the rest of our crew headed to Nashville. We figured it would be easier that way. For all of us... :) Of course he was to excited about being at Grammie and Pop's house to sleep his usual 3+ hour nap. They tell me he had a blast when he woke up. He road with my mom on her scooter down the street, honking the horn along the way. Then he got to ride a gator (or something like that...) which he LOVED. If I haven't made this clear in the past, he is truly obsessed with all forms of transportation. My parents may not have gotten any pictures to prove it, but as soon as we got back to Lulu and Perd's I was given the perfect opportunity to do so. As soon as we walked into the yard, he headed to Perd's barn. This is the next thing I see...
Clearly he does not get tired of riding large pieces of equipment...
He takes it very seriously too!!!
So proud of himself...
Giving me a big wave...
He will be spending a lot more time with his grandparents this weekend. We are going to a wedding in Cincinnati this weekend and have plans to leave our boy behind. There is a chance I will chicken out. It is going to be hard to make it Friday night until Sunday afternoon without seeing his sweet face. I know, I know. It will be good for all of us. Yeah, yeah... Just saw a few prayers for his mamma, would you??? ;)

We were excited about our unplanned coordinating outfits. Just excuse red shoes that don't match anything...I didn't bring the white ones! What can you do? At least it wasn't Zutano this Monday. Nope! It was a handmade outfit from Lulu. You know, the kind she just whips up out of no where!!! So lucky... And for the record, Jill...it wasn't the SAME Zutano outfit last week as the one before. There is a BIIIIIIIG difference between red and white stripes and orange and white stripes!!! And the shorts were NOTHING alike... :)

I have a cute video I was hoping to share. However, I am not on my computer(PC) have been stumbling my way through a Mac (whose passwords I do not know) for a few hours now. Those password are required to install the software needed to use the Flip. It also doesn't help that it is now 1:06 am on TUESDAY! I should probably go to bed! I'll just say Mac Smack for now and leave it at that! :) The PC and I will get it done when we get back home...

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 1 year and 25 weeks old!!! That makes a total of 77 weeks! Good night. That is a lot of weeks! Is it just us or does he look bigger and bigger each week? Maybe it is all of the hair coming in on top of that head. Not sure. But he sure seems to be turning into more of a toddler and less of a baby every day. My attempts to deny it are not working.

Of course we had to take a picture of Blake and Crosby on Father's Day! Crosby refused to look at the camera but I still thought it was cute... He was more interested in his new furry friend. More on her in a bit. This section is about his father... Crosby was able to participate a little more this year. We got a card for Blake, which Crosby "helped" sign. Then, I put the card in his hand and said, "Take your card to Daddy." Sure enough, he walked right up to Blake and presented him with a card! We had never practiced. He had never given anyone a card before. But that little brain of his sure knew what to do!! Amazing to think he understands 90% (or more) of what we say to him, according to books that is! We spent Father's Day together at church and had lunch together before Blake played golf with his dad. Mine was on the road, heading back from Mississippi. We are so grateful to have been blessed with amazing fathers and father's-in-law. And Crosby is crazy about his Daaah, Perd and Pop! Happy Father's Day!

It has been sooooo hotttah (as Crosby would say) lately. We can barely spend time outside during the middle of the day. Well, Crosby would. The only problem is I think I could have heat stroke and there would be no one else to watch him if it happened. So I figure we better not risk it. Instead, we pull out the sprinkler late in the afternoon...

Oh yea. We are classy folks for sure!

Crosby thought it was pretty awesome and that is all that matters...

So we missed the initial excitement. But at least we got his hysterical laugh on video...

All wet...

Oh, our poor nameless kitty. One would think she is so unloved... Except there is this little tike, who talks about her constantly...

And just waits for the opportunity to pour his love on her...

And pour he does...

And she is thrilled by it...

"Caatah" He says it all the time and points her way....
And he shrills every time we walks out the door. And when she jumps up into his chair. He just wants to kiss her over and over...

Nugget wanted to remind us that he still exists. As if we have forgotten!!! I managed to get all 3 of the kiddos in the frame!

More kisses...

Looks rather scary, I know. But fear not!!! This shot was just "mid meow"... See. No harm to the child!!!

When he is done with the caatah, there is always Daaah. Moments like these simply melt my heart. Books are Crosby's other love. I am pretty sure between me and Blake, this book was read 6 times within an hour. The boy LOVES to read...

And we love to snuggle up with the little guy and honor his request!

Note to self...no Zutano outfit next week!!! ;)

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 1 year and 24 weeks old!!! Year 2 is nearly half way over. This is ridiculous. Life really should not be able to pass by so quickly!! It is just not fair.

Maybe this week has seem extra short because someone decided to sleep the whole week away! I am not sure what happened to the baby we took to Mexico. I guess being crabby is exhausting. Now he is playing catch up big time. I am fairly confident the child has not gotten out of bed before 8:30 since we have been back. Actually, I know he hasn't. And today, he stayed there until 9:45?!?!? I know, I know. It is sickening to the parent dealing with a child who won't sleep or who wakes up at 4:30. But, he has been my alarm clock for 17 months now. And he is really throwing me off. We were really late to church on Sunday because we had to wake him up at 9:20. What in the world??? I will admit, it was nice to sleep in a few days after our trip. But now, I am ready to be productive again. That requires leaving the house before 10am!!! Let's keep it to 7:30 or 8:00 how 'bout??

Any ideas as to what is making this boy smile???

There are a couple of things. He heard a train in the back ground for starters. Oh, how he loves to hear a train, or a truck, or a helicopter. And if there is a siren of any sort, it is the greatest thing on earth! He is also smiling for another reason. I have mentioned he is now a BIG brother???

Yep! You read it right. And here is his sister...

Yep! She just showed up at our house 2 weeks before vacation. She stuck around (even after Blake removed her uterus...go figure!) so we are calling her ours. She is nameless but she is ours. And I guess technically speaking, she is older than Crosby. But Blake is only going by the look of her teeth when he says she is 18 months old. So I am taking off a few months to make Crosby feel a little cooler! Let me just say the boy LOVES this cat. He can say "cat" so clearly. Yet, he does not say "mommy" at all...and I am not holding a grudge... He wants to see her first thing in the morning. He tries to pick the poor thing up. He tries to squeeze and love on her. IN LOVE. Needless to say, we are working on "gentle" and provide supervision at all times for her sake! I am going to have to get a video of him seeing her first thing in the morning. It is just too cute! They are bestest of friends. He is literally mesmerized with his sister the cat...

We spent today at Grammie and Pop's house. They happen to have a cat. Zoe. Poor thing. This is what Crosby spent his time doing...

Under...

Out from under...

Under...
He chased her in and out from under his bed. He just wanted to pet her. What is so wrong with that? I have a feeling Zoe was happy to see us drive a way....
