Happy Halloween

I just read the first paragraph from MY last post and had to stop. I could read no more. Note to self: "DO NOT post ANYTHING once Ambien has been administered."

I literally woke up at 1:00am with my hands on the keyboard...where they were when I last recall being awake at 11:15pm. Just giving you an idea of my mental processes last night. Oh yes, you already have an idea... All I know, is I am horrified with the first few sentences I read. Sure, I could go back and edit it but I am the moron who thought it would be a good idea to post it as is. And to think I truly felt I had read over it good!! As if that would have even mattered. I could barely keep my eyes open to find the orange "publish post" button clearly positioned in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. I was in no state to proof read the alphabet... much less a blog post. So, please accept my apologies. Never again will I do that. And for those who keep telling my mom "she just has a way with words"... feel free to take it back. I CLEARLY just proved that one wrong!!!

Redemption...
Last night went, relatively, well! I had a round of contractions later in the evening but that was just par for this golf course. Despite being awakened to a chirping sound coming from the pump on my legs, I got plenty of rest. Dr. B is out today but he did call to check in with the nurses! Very Dr. B. The doc on call stopped by but it was rather uneventful. Of course, I prefer it that way! Back to Dr. B...I intended to say something about him being married...with children...not sure if that happened...but to clear the record...he is unavailable for courtship...

This morning has been quiet. A few phone calls here and there. I actually made a slight dent in emails and Facebook. I have plans to shower shortly because I want to "don" (had to use that word at work all the time and I HATE it) my clean, orange and white stripped shirt, followed by the same black pants (thank you C.J.R) I have worn the past 2 days. I am making an attempt to participate in Halloween festivities right here in the Predators Suite! I love trick or treaters and will miss seeing them tonight, not that we ever get that many on our street. But our neighbor does make an awesome float every year and he takes all the kids for a ride. And some adults...with their dog...whose name is Nugget! :)

My mother-in-law came by Monday night to keep me company while the men went to the Titans game. She came with all sorts of Halloween decorations in tow. I got to enjoy them a few hours before making the move to the big city! Lucky for you, I have pictures to share!!!! All of this writing I have been doing is for the birds. You need something to look at...

What you can't see in the picture are 2 mums Blake bought at my request! I just wanted our house to look somewhat festive. He could care less about the house but is willing to do whatever he can to make me smile. Sweet thing... And no, he is not available for courtship either!!!
Our little pumpkin is still in the proper patch! They say his heart rate looks great for a "27 weeker." I'll take that! He continues to kick and flip and hiccup to make his presence known. As if I need a reminder :)

Glad your little pumpkin is still in the patch! Soon it'll be November and we can start calling him a turkey!! That is waaay more appropriate, as every turkey needs to bake. Glad to hear you are in good spirits!!

Happy Halloween! Maybe you can pretend your nurses are just kids dressed up like medical professionals and their "tricks" are poking and prodding you! Maybe they'll give you a grape popsicle or something as a "treat"! :) Loving you from here~ Jill

I've had Ambien before and can completely understand the previous post. Glad you are keeping your spirits up! (hardy har har)

I'm glad you have the wonderful medical care you are receiving. I remember when my contractions "broke through" the terbutaline and I had to be admitted for IV mag sulfate. I was elated. Not for the contractions, of course, but for being in a place where I didn't have to decide about how strong, how many, how long contractions were. My job was to lay there like a good girl and let the professionals worry about all of that. There was peace was in knowing that if there were any problems, I was in the right place where something could be done. So I could relate to the relief you felt when you were admitted!
I will continue to pray for you and your little guy. It is so obvious that you and Blake love him very much. He has two wonderful parents to go with the wonderful doctors and I believe God has plans for him and for you all. Keep trusting.
Love you,
Jennifer Hicks
