At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 1 year and 52 weeks old!!! That's right folks. It is the last week our little man will be known as a 1 year old. Less than a week, actually. We have 2 more days of the ones. The big "twos" are right around the corner. Wednesday, at 11:24 am, it will be official. I'm not ready for it either. Can it just stay Monday a little while longer? Sigh...
We had a great week and managed to cram in a lot of activity before Christmas. Of course I tried to take my camera with me and document it all. I would love to share ALL of them. But I will spare you. Actually, I could kick myself for taking my camera with a dead battery to my parents house on the 23rd. I used their camera instead but didn't pay attention to the settings. Needless to say, most of the pictures are horrific. And it is all my fault... Sigh.
So, for the sake of time, I am cutting it down to Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at our house. The Lipscomb family Christmas and the Malone family Christmas will be available for viewing very soon!
And why is time an issue?? Because somebody is turning TWO this week!!!! I have so much to do around this house that I can hardly sleep for thinking about it! To make matters worse, I thought it sounded like a great idea to work 2 days this week?!?! What was I thinking? What a horrible I idea now that the time is here. And we we are making a trip to Birmingham on Saturday! It will be amazing if I pull this off. I say I work better under pressure. We'll see about that!! At least the Christmas decorations are now put away until next year. Very sad to do that so early. But I want to make it seem like there is something different about his birthday and Christmas, you know?!?
Speaking of Christmas...We spend Christmas Eve in Nashville. We went to church at 5:00. I hear it was a great service. I wouldn't know. I was in the lobby 90% of the time with the little one! The child can't sit still. Can NOT sit still. He was running up and down the halls, wanting to see baby Jesus in the manger. However, baby Jesus and the manger had been moved from the lobby to the stage. He kept trying to crawl over the "fence" and be baby Jesus himself. (for those of you who know what I am talking about...) We drank water out of the little fountain at least 20 times. He tried to go up to the 3rd floor, looking for Santa because he still thinks he is there from the Christmas breakfast. Oh dear. He was a mess. When the service was over, we headed home for dinner with the Autrys. Santa sent a special video to Crosby that we all got to watch...
I am thinking Santa should have mentioned tantrums instead of "saying please and thank you" if you know what I mean!!! At least I got the little fella to agree to SIT in front of the tree for a picture! What? Maybe we are getting past the camera fits?!? He was pretty serious in the first shot. But this one is pretty sweet...
Crosby left Santa milk and cookies before heading to bed. It was a super special cookie that he helped make at Anne Claire's house! Santa ate it so I guess it was pretty tasty...
I know. I should have stayed in bed and waited until morning to see what Santa brought. But I couldn't stand it. I had to sneak down in the weeeee hours of the morning and take a peak. This is what I saw... It was the parking tower that Crosby had been eyeing! And a case of Match Box cars. AND a rocking chair!! I knew he would be so excited... Not to mention all of the presents wrapped from me and Blake!!! But look at that tower!! Pretty fun for a boy obsessed with cars...
I heard Crosby talking around 6:40 am. I admit, I was hoping to sleep in a little longer. But, I got up, woke up Blake, went downstairs to get the video camera ready, and headed back up to get Crosby. Blake swore he hadn't heard him since I got up. But I heard that voice of his 3 times before I got out of bed. Sure enough, Blake opened the door to his room and...asleep!!! Seriously?? He NEVER does that. Except on Christmas morning apparently! Of course I couldn't go back to sleep at that point. So we waited. And waited. And waited.
Finally, around 7:45 am, he was really awake! I got the camera ready, again, and sent Blake upstairs to get Crosby. We both agreed he was make a B-line for the tower. Yea. Think again...
The case of Match Box cars was his favorite!!!! Good grief. We thought Santa really messed up. All it took was a few demos with his cars and he was sold. Santa had been redeemed!!! He loves "rocking" and was excited to have a chair just his size. Notice the cars in hands...
We convinced him to put the cars down long enough to open a few gifts from us...
He really got into unwrapping this year. That was fun to see!
Again, the cars went back to the hands and Blake had to encourage him to open the next present...
He was thrilled about his FORTH set of books. You know we are big fans...
Then we opened a few flip flap books that he should grow into nicely! He loves the flaps for sure...
Then it was back to the cars and tower...
We had to hang them everywhere! Have I ever mentioned how much I love Christmas cards?? ;-)
We pulled out stockings and let him see what was inside...
There were a few books in the shape of a car/trucks/bus, a Thomas toothbrush, bath bubbles, bath fizz balls, colored bath water tablets and Play Doh. We had to read all of the books immediately...

I am kind of over the snow already but it was beautiful to see on Christmas morn!
And just so you know, Crosby now asks to sleep with the "cement truck" and the "ambalance", every night. It is pretty adorable to sneak in there once he is asleep and see them still in his grip. Have I ever mentioned the boy LOVES a truck??
