8 months

Yep. It is that time of the month again. It sure does seem like the 29th rolls around fast, doesn't it? We are the proud parents of an 8 month old!!!! Excuse me...did someone else say that? Ummm...no...that was me. He is REALLY 8 months old... Good grief. This growing up business is for the birds. How many times can I say that??? Will I ever get used to it? In my mind, he should only be about 4 months old at this point! My mind is about as scattered and jumbled as the come these days so that should be no surprise!

I honor of the big day, we had a little photo session. Let me tell you, he was much easier to photograph when he did not move. I am afraid this is going to get worse each month. Unless I pull out duct tape, that is! On to "Perspective Pictures"...

Crosby with his bear...
Crosby with his bear in his chair...

Mug shot...

Big feet & little feet...
Big hand & chubby, little hand... LOVE IT!!!

Upside down...

Outtakes...
I thought this was a cute shot of our feet but couldn't deviate from the norm...
Blurry because he is spitting everywhere!!!

"Da da da da da..."

About to scoot himself right out of the chair...
Showing off his...hair...

"Hi! What's your name???"

Looking as if this is the first time he has EVER seen Nugget!!

Compare: 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, 5 months, 6 months, 7 months

I don't realize just how much he has changed until I look back at "old" pictures!

Crosby is still wearing size 3 diapers and they seem to fit just right. His clothing size varies but seems to wear 9-12 month in most things. 12 month pajamas! He still loves his Johnny Jump Up. He only uses the swing for movie time, which is only once every few days. But when he hears Baby Einstein music, he is GLUED to the TV. It is seriously like Pavlov's dog... He knows that music very well. He prefers the exersaucer that moves over the stationary one. He still sits on his activity mat but doesn't lay there and play as much anymore. He does prefers to sit over laying down these days. He spends more time on his belly but has yet to creep or crawl. He does get up on all fours when you go to lay him in the prone position. He just rocks back and forth until he does a face plant! He still sits in his bouncy seat on occasion but kicks so hard the thing could fall apart! We used to sit him in it ALL the time with the vibration turned on. It now appears the original batteries are on their last leg. They almost lasted 7 months (we didn't use it at first).

Crosby takes anywhere from 28-32 ounces of milk a day and has solids 2-3 times a day. We have been trying to get him to take the "6+" fast flowing, "Y" cut nipple. But he ABHORS it. He refuses his bottle and gets so frustrated. This means he is still drinking a 3-6 month nipple! I have told him that everyone else in the nursery is going to make fun of him but he does not care. Apparently he wants to stay a tiny baby as much as I would like for him to. :) I am not real sure what to do about this. It took 30 minutes and a major battle to get 6 ounces in the child when I refused to switch the other day! So I gave in. Probably not a good sign...

The little man still sleeps through the night. He is really good about taking 2 naps a day when we are here. He can also sleep well in the car if we are out. I try to respect his need for sleep but there are just some times we have to be out. Like Sundays! He is pretty flexible and we make it work.

The past 8 months have been the greatest! We are blessed to have an easy little boy. He has the sweetest smile and an adorable laugh. He is a strong willed little booger but we think he is kind of cute even when he is mad! :) Can you tell that we are crazy about Mr. Crosby??

i wouldn't worry about the nipple thing. none of my kids have ever used above the newborn avent nipple. i mean, all the way til they didn't get bottles anymore at 10+ months. as far as i know, all the larger holes do is make them suck less which equals less work which equals less good muscle development in the face and jaws...
