The new do

When all you do is lay on the couch or bed 24 hours a day, you appearance takes a back seat. If no one is stopping by, I typically squeeze into tank top that doesn't exactly cover the lower quarter of my belly. I throw on a pair of boxer shorts and pull my hair back in a pony tail. I make my way to one of 3 flat surfaces and stay there until my bladder is about to explode. Every bathroom in our house has a mirror. Most days, it is quite tragic to see the person staring back at me. When looking at my head, all I can see is 3 inch roots with split ends every where. Even keeping conditioner in until the last second of a shower could not touch the rats nest that has become my hair. The only time I even attempt to look feminine is for my doctors appointments. Even then, my hair looks awful. At least that was the case...until Monday!

Earlier this week, I had one of the most exciting days of my bed rest experience. Several people from the vet clinic use Jennifer as a stylist. She heard of my predicament and volunteered to make a house call. I cannot tell you how thrilling it was to hear that news. I called her a week ago and made an "appointment" for Monday. She brought everything she needed to hi-lite and cut my hair. When it was all said and done, I felt like a new person. I could run my fingers through my hair without getting them stuck. And my roots...what roots? My color was perfect, leaving my hair nice and shiny. I felt like a celebrity when I went to my doctors appointment on Tuesday. Okay, maybe that is a stretch but I felt much better being see by the outside world. I am pretty sure Blake was thrilled about the results too! The things he is having to deal with these days...

We took a few before pictures. Warning: they are pretty scary. I can't believe I am about to post this...Maybe I will remember to get a few afters this Tuesday! :) THANK YOU JENNIFER!!!!!

Hey! This is "corey's friend" and I got to talk to her awhile last night and get updates from her AND you- I really feel like I know you through your blog and her. I told her that every Tuesday I have felt like there is "something I need to do" and last week it became a habit to check on you and your appointment. SO, I'm thinking about you today and can't wait to hear GOOD updates!
