I like ham!!!

Crosby, pointing to a kinda girlish looking white pair of sandals on the floor...

C: Those are sandals??
Me: Yea. But I don't really like those sandals on you.
C: They are old!!
Me: starts laughing... How do you know what that means?? You are such a ham!!!
C: I like ham!

Oh the things my sweet boy says...

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 2 years and 22 weeks old!!!  We had a few firsts this week.  As some folks know (and as I have mentioned), Crosby has a love-hate relationship with the car wash.  He talks about them NONSTOP.  He hunts them down at every gas station and lets us know which ones do and which ones don't have a car wash.  BUT, if you suggest going to the car wash, he starts to panic.  He wants no part of actually visiting a car wash!  So, you can only imagine how he reacted when I suggested we wash the car over the weekend!  He was super nervous and did NOT want to go outside.  I had to explain that we would not be going to the actual facility.  That we would only be using a water hose and a bucket of soapy water.  He still wasn't buying it.  Finally we just had to force him out the door.  As you can see in this picture, he got over his fears pretty quickly...
He even decided to wash HIS car!!!
He loved trying to fill the bucket with more water...
Helping Daddy rinse...
Thinking he is such a big boy...
Getting a few tips from Daddy...
"No help needed, Dad.  I got this!"
We talked him into doing a "dog wash" this afternoon.  He wasn't too excited about getting his hands all soapy.  He just wanted to manage the hose.  I am thinking we have have few tactile issues to work on over the summer! ;-)

I have been working on a project for a few weeks.  Pressure washing the driveway!  I don't know why I like these types of projects but I sure do!  Obviously I get a little distracted at times...
I thought he looked so cute sitting in the "O"!  He was pretty proud of himself because he found the "O" and sat right down, just like I asked.  So smart!  The only bad thing about my project is the timing.  It is taking me FOREVER to finish because of this nastiness...

CICADAS!!!
I am sure the neighbors have enjoyed watching me kick and scream and yell and flail about as these disgusting creatures dive bomb me!  I end up pressure washing everything but the driveway.  Blake gets so frustrated when the wand ends up pointed towards the landscape bed and sends mulch flying in all directions.  Well...when I literally have one of these red-eyed, flapping and screaming bugs in my bra, of all places, I can't help myself.  Spasms take over and I have no control over the pressure washer wad.  I am sorry!!!  I cannot stand having bugs all over me.  Even if they don't bite!  Needless to say, I will probably have to put my project on hold until these awful creatures finally die.  Please let them die soon...

We went to a birthday party for Jason and Jackson Spencer on Sunday afternoon.  I can't believe "Baby Jack", as Crosby calls him, will be turning 1 year old!  I got one decent picture of the little ones before Crosby made a mad dash...
Yea.  He ran up stairs and got quiet.  That can only mean trouble.  Sure enough, this is what we found the little stinker doing...
Then we went to a big Memorial Day party that was being held at Animalia.  Crosby got to spend the evening playing with his cousins.  Are they not the cutest kiddos!?!?
Unfortunately, I had to take a picture of this...
My beautiful hydrangeas.  They are already taking a beating and it isn't even June.  The high temp today was 93.  I am pretty sure the 99-100 degree temps we are expecting this week will not help.  Better start cutting them off so I can actually enjoy them.  Makes me sick...

At least Crosby got to spend this hot Monday in a pool.  First swim of the year!!!

Apparently he sticks his tongue out when his face is wet!?!?  :) Looking forward to a great summer with my best buddy!  Have I ever mentioned how much I love this boy???

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 2 years and 21 weeks old!!!  Good grief.  We are about to start the sixth month of this year.  Is it just me or is this one not flying by faster than the one we just left???  What in the world is this about.  Seriously.  Life needs to go as slow as it did when I was 5 and wanting Christmas to come.  It took forever back then.  Now, I am praying for it all to just SLOW DOWN!!!

Humph.

Does Crosby not look like a BOY in the picture up there?  I can't believe my own eyes.  I still rock him like a baby.  I hold him just like I did when he was a tiny thing with his head cradled in my left arm and his bum in my right arm.  His feet nearly hit the wall but we still do it.  I carry him around like he is still a hip baby.  I still pretend.  But that picture.  Man, that picture says otherwise.  So do the pictures below.

Another milestone has come and gone.  This past Thursday was Crosby's last day of Mother's Day Out. It seems like just a few months ago I posted this.  Can't believe it is already over.  He LOVED "school". Loved his teachers.  Loved the teachers in the room next door.  Loved the car ramp and cars.  Loved washing his hands at the tiny sink.  Loved his nap mat, even though he didn't nap there entire second semester. (almost anyway...he just needed to sleep longer than they had time to let him!!!)  He loved having his partner in crime to hold hands with as we crossed the street at the end of the day.  Well, he didn't want to hold hands all of the time but he did it to make her happy!  And me!  What a great year we had.  So, we had to have our sweet babes take a picture on their very, last day...

"What do you mean this is our last day of school?"  Would you just look at his hand on her thigh and her hand on top of his.  Love it...

"Simle...show your teeth and smile!!!" Not exactly what we had in mind there Cros...
Pretty sweet...
I am not sure what is going on here.  But it sure looks like some big, bad boy is coming towards Margaret and Crosby is protecting her.  Or something like that...
Bittersweet seeing these two together.  Crosby won't be in school with Miss Moo next year.  Not sure where he is going just yet.  I do know he and is momma are going to miss seeing the Rick crew every Tuesday and Thursday.  But we WILL see them all the time.  Right, Melissa!?!?! : ) We have a whole summer ahead of us with not a whole lot planned.  That is going to have to change if I am going to keep this busy boy entertained!  Looking forward to spending lots of time with this sweet face...

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 2 years and 20 weeks old!!!  It was about that time this morning that I realized I had not taken a single picture of this boy all week!  Not one.  Maybe it is because he spent a good chunk of the week in Columbia with his grandparents!  I was only planning for him to be gone one night.  Then a second night away was requested.  So, a second night he stayed.  While it was nice to have a quiet weekend with the hubs, we missed our little man!  It doesn't feel the same around here without his sweet little voice talking our heads off!  And let me just say the boy can talk.  I have NO idea where he got it from, but he will talk to anyone and everyone!  He has never met a stranger. Nope.  No clue where this little social butterfly came from...
He was not excited when I pulled out the camera but that is nothing new.  He did offer a brief smile when he suggested I take a picture of him with his fox.  He is pretty fond of the fox seeing how they share a name...
He even wanted me to take one of the fox so he could "see it"...
I tried to get a decent one of our "Fox" but he just wouldn't cooperate...
He just protested...
So I held him down and tried to force him into taking a picture with me.  Yea.  It didn't turn out to good either...
He just got annoyed with my attempt to capture ONE sweet picture of my handsome boy...
I gave up and we moved on to other things.  Crosby has really gotten into coloring these days.  It doesn't matter the medium.  Crayons and paper will work.  Markers and a dry erase board do the trick, too.  He doesn't care what you color with, he just wants a few things to drawn... tractors, excalators (aka excavators), trucks, cars, Uncle Jason's forklift, pressure washers, bulldozers, and cranes.  But the one thing Crosby talks about the most and wants to have drawn in every color available is what you see below...
Some days I hear the words "car" and "wash" approximately 100 times.  And I am not joking.  Ever since Blake took him to the car wash before his birthday, he has talked about them NONSTOP.  He points out which gas stations do and do not have car washes.  He talks about the brushes and the lights.  He asks, "What does the car wash say?"  He runs his Matchbox cars through the car wash on his parking tower.  He plays with the car wash bath toy.  Car wash, car wash, car wash!!!  I have tried to figure out a way to reset his car wash button but I have had no luck.  I seriously have to tell him we are "all done with the car wash" and refuse to respond to him when he brings it up.  That or I threaten to take him if he talks about it!!!  Heavens to Betsy we need a new topic around here.

Here he is running a car through the car wash...
Crazy boy!!!!!  At least he will spend 30+ minutes drawing now.  And he is pretty are serious about it...
Telling me what to draw next...
Coloring the pressure washer...

Taking a moment to admire his work before he erases it...
And then asks you to draw a car wash in another color!!!  The new rule is only ONE car wash a day... Sigh.
At least he is adorable!

Like I mentioned a few weeks back and failed to post them due to bloggers block, Crosby is all about singing these days.  And he was more than happy to let me film him in action as long as I let him "see it" afterwards.  I know, there are waaaaaay to many videos.  But how is a momma to decide which one to omit?!?!?  So I posted them all!

"Trot Ole Joe"

"Jesus Loves Me," "Deep and Wide/Wide and Deep" and "Zacchaeus"

"The Hello Song" and "Mary Wore a Red Dress" from Music Together...Melissa, you will be the only person who appreciates this!!! ;-)

"Humpty Dumpty" and ""Itsy Bitsy Spider"

"Little Miss Muffet"

"Twinkle Twinkle"

"Pop Goes the Weasel"

"Happy Birthday (to Sam)"

Is he cute or what!?!? ;-)

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 2 years and 19 weeks old!!!  I am so thankful I was able to spend another Mother's Day with my sweet boy to love.  Carrying the title, "Mother", while empty armed for so many years makes the weight of my boy even more precious.  This week I was reminded that life does not always go as we have planned. There are curveballs thrown left and right! I am so thankful that I have truly been able to be a momma for 2 whole years and 19 weeks.  What a blessing and honor it is. May I never take it for granted.

We got to spend special time with our moms this weekend.  We met my parents for dinner on Saturday night at Carrabbas.  If you don't count the part where my mom's parked car was hit in the parking lot, I would say it was a pretty great night!  We got lots of smiles...
We spent Sunday afternoon with Blake's mom.  Anne Claire had us all over for a delicious lunch.  I would say it was a great time, too.  Well, minus the fact that Blake could not turn his head to the right or left due to some crazy pulled muscle...
Ahhhhh.  Being a mother...
You just never know what a day with your little one with be like...
I sure never expected to look down and see a mini version of Gene Simmons staring back at me!!!
I am glad that Crosby is finally starting to enjoy all things crafty.  However, I would prefer he explore his creative side on paper rather than his sweet face!

We had visitors today.  And of course Crosby has to show off the PDQ garbage truck when visitors are over at pick up time. I am pretty sure Leighton was NOT impressed...
Once these two were down for their naps, Leighton's momma, Courtney, and I played What Not to Wear with my closet.  It was a daunting task but it had to be done.  The stuff in the center of the bed and to the left will be leaving my house for good.  The stuff to the right was technically the maybe pile.  And the keep pile...  Yea.  The keep pile is a tiny pile behind the maybe pile that you can't even really see from this angle!!!
While I am glad we did it, I found myself pretty emotional at the end of the night.  There is a lot of "baggage" in this pile of clothing that I was not prepared to deal with.  These are the "when life was fun and easy clothes."  The "when I was in the best shape of my life" clothes.  They are the "before the girls" clothes.  Ones that I guess I thought I could "get back into and kinda pretend that years have not passed me by" clothes.  Sigh...  Who knew cleaning out your closet could be so hard!  Now, if I can just get them out of my house and to their planned destinations.  That is going to be the chore for sure!

And if Stacey and Clinton are reading, and I am sure they are,  I could REALLY use that Visa with $5000 on it to go shopping.  You can have it all!  Mind, body and wardrobe.  It is yours.  I will do anything and everything you tell me to do.  I will gladly step in the 3-D mirror.  I will graciously listen to each and every rule.  I promise!!!!  Please. Pretty please. Come save me...

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 2 years and 18 weeks old!!!  We had lots of fun this week with our friends.  We headed to Cheekwood to see the train exhibit on Friday.  Oddly enough, Crosby isn't a huge train fan.  Don't get me wrong, he likes seeing them when we are on the road, loves going over tracks in the car, etc.  But you put Thomas next to a Matchbox car, and the car will win every time!   So I wasn't sure how long the exhibit would hold his attention.  It was a beautiful day so I figured it was worth a try!  He loved it...

Asher, Crosby and Jonas in awe of the train passing in front of them...
Tracks were everywhere!  It really was a beautiful to see...
Crosby's first (of many) attempt to touch the trains...
More train watching...
The trains were set at different speeds so the boys would run after them as they passed by.  Then they would spot another one coming down a different track and get distracted.  They were all over the place!
As you can see, the rails were at a temptingly low height.  I am not sure how many times I said, "Do not climb over that fence, Crosby!!!"
Another train...
One of the few shots of his face!
The boys were ready to run after 45 minutes or so.  Crosby and Lucas loved chasing each other...
Crosby had to show Asher the ant he found...
Melissa, Margaret and Wells were able to join us. Is Wells not adorable...
Crosby and Asher posing...
We all packed a lunch and let the kiddos eat at the park,  I asked Crosby to share his pretzels with Margaret.  He took that to mean he needed to feed her!!!  He thought it was so fun and she went along with it...
The kiddos...
We made one more stop by the train exhibit before leaving.  Crosby loved looking in this peep hole, waiting for the lady bug train to ride by...
Me and my boy...
We almost made it out of there without any major disasters.  Almost...
We noticed a some commotion going on and realized someone had derailed a train.  Yeah.  You guessed right.  Crosby climbed over the fence and managed to separate the engine from the cars and knock the cars on their side!!!  Lovely.  At least the employees were super nice about it.  What a mess...

Today we were able to celebrate Lucas' 2nd birthday with our playgroup.  Can you believe they all sat at this table and ATE!  It was amazing.  No straps.  Just chairs for most of the crew.  And they actually stayed put.  Miracle...
The Graves Crew...
I can't believe I got one with the candle lit!  Lucas was super quick to blow out his candle!
Sweet Eli...
Lucas and Crosby eating their cupcakes.  I am pretty sure Crosby had taken a break to sing his version of Happy Birthday...  Hah puh duh pay to you.  Hah puh duh pay to you.  Hah puh duh pay Mr. Lucas.  Hah puh duh pay to you!!!!!  Pretty funny...
Somebody is enjoying his cupcake...
Miss Addy Lou...
Miss Mason...

Lucas cramming his cupcake in!!!
On another note, I spent the day sneezing my head off with puffy, watery eyes.  I was an allergy MESS at the party.  Here's to hoping Claritin kicks in SOON...
Videos still to come.
