Mondays with Crosby and Jane Claire

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 3 years and 32 weeks old!!!  At 1:03 pm, Jane Claire turned 19 weeks old!!!  Would you look at those numbers?!?!  How in the world did they get so large?  How will we be in the 20's next week??  I can't stand it.  Can. Not. Stand. It.  These kiddos are growing way to fast.

At least Jane Claire is taking her sweet time.  As you can probably guess based on the picture above, she had her 4 month check up on Tuesday.  She got a clean bill of health!  Dr. P says she looks great!  Well, of course she does!!  She's a doll! ;-)  And a perfectly healthy one, too.  Per all of the questions we were asked, she is right on target with her milestones.  She weighed in ad 12 pounds 4 ounces and 24 inches long.  She is around the 25th percentile for weight and the 45th percentile for height.  She continues to be a light weight!  Maybe that is why I continue to think there is no way she is as "old" as she is! ;-)

Her appointment was on Tuesday so Blake could go.  Since school is not in, that means Crosby went too!  Needless to say, it is hard to take pictures with him getting into everything!  He sure was worried about his sister...
She didn't know what was about to come...
And she was as happy as a clam...
Until they came to give those shots!  Of course she let out the horrific "don't breath for at least 10 seconds" cry and her face turned as red as a tomato.  Fortunately, she recovered quickly and all was well again.  Poor Crosby took it about as bad as she did!  He sure hates seeing his little sister cry.  Just precious!

We had super fun plans on Tuesday night!  After the doctors appointment, we headed home for naps so we would be ready for the Williamson County Fair!!!  I took sooooo many pictures.  And I couldn't narrow them down.  So, I made use of the collage.  Multiple times!!

We met GranBuddy, Lulu, and the Cyr crew as the gates were opening.  We headed straight to the little market for the kiddos.  It is the cutest thing ever so I had to take tons of pictures of Crosby and Charlotte.  Here is my little man with his apron and basket...
I can still remember our first year at the fair.  Pretty horrible.  Crosby could have cared less about filling his basket with corn or wool.  All he wanted to do was sit on the tractor.  There was nothing we could do to change his mind.  Not even the carousel could distract him!!  He was on a mission.  The past 2 years have been so much fun.  These pictures read like a book.  Left to right, top to bottom!
1.) Charlotte and Crosby gathering corn 2.) Feed the corn to the chicken and pick up their eggs 3.) Then they had to stop an pet the "baby chicks" 4.) Brushing the sheep to collect a bag of wool 5.)  Goin' fishin'!  Crosby caught a biggun! 6.)  Crosby's basket of goods 7.) Riding that tractor he loved so much!! 8.) Planting their seeds 9.) Crosby milking a cow!  He actually did it himself this year!

Once they went through all of the stations, they turned in their goods for "money" to use at the store.  Crosby chose animal crackers over an ice cream sandwich, an apple, or milk.  I would have totally gone ice cream sandwich...

*****FAIR ADDENDUM***  I have to thank Sonja for reminding me of a very important detail from our fair experience that I nearly omitted!!  That is what I get for letting too much time pass before writing... On to the story. We try to go out like a normal families do.  You know, doing normal things.  Going for dinner.  Seeing a movie.  Visiting the fair.  Normal things.  But, it never fails. There is always someone following us around.  And it seems to be the same family every time.  The Urban/Kidman trio cannot leave us alone!  Every time I turn around, there they are.  I don't know how they manage to find out our schedule but they ALWAYS do!  Kills me.  We were petting the animals in the barn when you know who walks in.  I just had to roll my eyes and turn around.  Crosby even had to share one of the rides with "Sunny"!?!?  Can you even believe it?!?  I know.  I had to threaten to snap a picture of Nicole coming out of the port-a-potty and sell it to US Weekly.  Not that they would bother printing a picture of a commoner in the "They use the port a potty" section of the magazine!  Thankfully we took the opportunity to lose them while she was behind the closed door.  Can we ever get any privacy?  I know.  And that is the story.  As I remember it.

So what was Jane Claire doing all that time??
Sitting in the Bob taking it all in!  Sweet thing.  Oh wait, she did get out for a not so great family picture!
I didn't have the heart to take her back out for the cousins picture.  It was quite a hoot trying to get these 3 to look up at the same time.  To smile at the same time was even harder to achieve.  I loved this one anyway...
We walked through the barn to see all of the animals.  They both liked petting the donkey...
I just LOVE seeing the momma pig and all her little babies.  And just like the past two years, I say I would take one of these little babies home if they would stay that size.  They are seriously the cutest things ever!  Well, not cuter than my kiddos but you know what I mean! ;-)
Once we got out of the barn, we headed straight for the rides.  Crosby was pumped.  When I told him the fair was coming (a few weeks ago), he asked if it was "the ferris wheel (what he calls a fair for some reason) with the motor cycles and the yellow rollercoaster."  Wow.  His memory is a little scary!!  "Yes!  That is the one I am talking about!"  He talked about going for days.  His face lit up when he saw these bad boys...
And that grin got even bigger when it took off!!!  He had SOOOO much fun on the motorcycles...
And what was little bit doing while he rode the motorcycles??  She sat in the Bob...
Such a doll baby!  Blake and Crosby headed off to fine the next ride.  I couldn't help but snap this picture.  Too cute of my favorite boys...
Next we headed to the train at Charlotte's request.  She made it around a time or two before she asked to get off!  We were so proud of her...
Next we came to one of his favorites, the yellow roller coaster...
It jerked him around and had his hair flying in the wind.  But he was all smile!  He even attempted to hold his arms up in the air like the big kids.  It lasted all of a second before he grabbed back on to the black bar! ;-)  So brave!  Next he and Blake went down the big red slide...
Talk about fast!  They flew down that thing.  It sure made me a little nervous.  But what ride doesn't make one a little nervous at the fair?!?

We walked past the bluegrass stage and heard the announcer asking for kiddos to join him in a dancing contest.  No one was paying him any attention.  So we headed his way.  Being that Crosby is obsessed with music and instruments, you didn't have to ask him twice to get up on stage.  He will do anything to be up close and personal with a fiddle, guitar and bass! Not to mention he loves to dance to any and all music.  At first it was just him...
Then the little fella in cowboy boots came up.  Then a few girls joined in.  They all ended up wining tickets to a few more rides!  Crosby had a good ole time dancing around on stage to live music!

And what did Little Sister do while he danced??  She danced with him in Lulu's lap!
My sweet, sweet babies...
That wrapped up our 2012 night at the Williamson County Fair.  It was sad to say farewell.  Partially because I didn't get to eat one single bite of greasy, fried fair food.  But mostly because we enjoyed watching Crosby have a blast this year!  Maybe Jane Claire will get to do more than ride in a stroller next time it rolls around.  But let's not even go there...
Thursday was a super special day.  One we have been looking forward to for a looooong time.  Crosby finally got to start school at Otter Creek.  He got in last year but we had to turn it down, knowing that we "might" have a baby on the way by the time fall rolled around.  We thought it would be best to have him close to home just in case.   And what a blessing Harpeth Heights was because that little baby DID come!!  So blessed...  Where was I?!  Ah yes.  So this year, we applied again and Crosby got in again.  When his Snoopy Letter came in, we were excited to learn that Crosby would be a part of Mrs. Fisher's class...
He was so excited to go for Snoopy Day, which is the orientation day.  The kiddos get to "snoop" around in their new classroom and so do their parents!  Crosby is so excited that Addy will be in his class this year.  I promise they really are excited about this...
Crosby sitting with Snoopy in his new classroom!!
Crosby, Lucas and Addy met up after Snoopy Day ended for a picture in front of the red doors!
They even convinced Charlotte to get in one with them!  Too sweet...
I am so very excited about this school year.  Having to drive 20 minutes (vs the 2 minutes we drove last year) will be quite an adjustment.  I foresee us being at the end of the drop off line most days!!!  But I am thrilled to know he will be loved on by the precious teachers at Otter Creek.  We are so lucky to be at this great school!

On Saturday, we helped the McCloud McDouble celebrate their first birthday!  We met at Cumberland Park (the splash pad) at 5:00.  Justin, Katie and Harper were there as well.  Harper and Jane Claire got to hang out a bit...
While the big boy and Lucas played in the splash pad and then headed to the big slide!!
Crosby insisted on going down with Lucas EVERY TIME!!!  They had so much fun on this little slide. They learned you could go really fast if you went down on your towel!  Lovely!  Accident waiting to happen. Luckily we were spared.  Then it was time to celebrate Isla and Ian...
And as soon as TJ and Holly were finished talking, Lucas and Crosby made a B-line toward the cupcakes!!!  Thankfully Josh intercepted them before they took out all the sugary treats!!  Silly boys...
Sweet Harper Jean...
Ian and Isla love their cupcakes!!!  Happy Birthday sweet babies!!!
On Sunday afternoon, our small group had an impromptu gathering at Red Caboose Park.  The weather has finally cooled down a bit.  We thought it would be great to spend an evening outdoors.  Crosby took a try at tee ball...
Then he and Addy chased a squirrel onto the playground... "But I just wanted to pet it!!!"
Sweet Addy Lou...
My, oh, My!!!  He sure has a lot of little lady friends!!  These two are pretty cute...
And would you look at this adorable baby...
She is getting so big!!!  And looking so much like her Daddy. I love it!!!
Jane Claire at 19 weeks...
I am happy to say sweet Jane Claire slept from 10:30 until 5:30 on Saturday night!!!  Yay, Baby Girl!!! That counts as all night in my book.  Of course, it was only a one time thing.  She was back to her "up once a night" business Sunday night.  So, I am not holding my breath.  Maybe soon.  For now, I will just pretend that she is a tee tiny baby that needs me in the middle of the night!!

I will end with this most precious video...
First real laughs and I caught them on video!!!  Clearly, Crosby has that skill down too!!! ;-)
