Mondays with Crosby and Jane Claire

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 3 years and 26 weeks old!!!  At 1:03 pm, Jane Claire turned 13 weeks old!!!  Baby girl is officially 3 months old TODAY!  And the Little Fox was officially 3.5 years old on Friday!  We had a lot of celebrating to do this week.  I have way to many pictures once again so I apologize in advance...

So, I have to confess.  Jane Claire is still in the cradle, in our bedroom, beside me.  She hasn't been a terrible sleeper, but she hasn't been great either.  Way back around 2 weeks old, I decided that Jane Claire "doesn't like to be swaddled" and I stopped swaddling her.  For the next 2 months, she had a hard time falling back asleep after eating in the middle of the night.  She would just buck around, grunting, pulling her knees to her chest.  Sometimes it would take an hour or more for her to really fall back asleep.  All along, I would reach over and reinsert her pacifier, pat her bum, etc.  Needless to say, I wasn't sleeping either!  I had every intention of pulling the Swaddle Me back out but 2 months went by before I thought to try it again.  What was I thinking?  I know babies are supposed to be swaddled and this "my baby doesn't like to be swaddled" business is for the birds.  So I finally pulled it back out. Sure.  She protested initially.  But within a few minutes, she settled and was out like a light!  Why did I give in so easily to this little girl of so long???  I am not sure.  She is now giving me 5 hour stretched most nights!  Now I if I would learn to take advantage of those stretches as opposed to looking at monogrammed pacifier clips for an hour...  Anyway, I am trying to make myself put the babe in her crib in an attempt to start some sort of nap routine.  I remember swaddling Crosby loosely during the day and velcroed as tight as could be at night.  I went in to check on her one day and found her like this...
She looks pretty comfy with those arms out!!  If she would just lose the startle reflex, I would let her keep them out!  I know I need to get her into her room at night, as well as during the day.  But it is so easy to fed her when she is right beside me and all I have to do is pick her up!!  I am lazy.  And her room is colder than mine.  I would freeze if I had to feed her in there...  One day.  My last babe will make it into her room one day.  But for now, I will chose to believe she is a newborn babe and keep her right next to me!

On Friday, we headed to The Factory in Franklin for a sale.  Yes.  A clothing sale.  Gotta get clothes for kiddos when they are at least half off!  I met 2 other pals at The Little Cottage and combed through the racks.  I didn't end up getting much that day.  (But I did the week before at another shop! :-))  What I did get was ADORABLE pictures of our kiddos on the famous blue bench thanks to Kara...

These kiddos are too cute...
My favorite...
Leighton, Crosby and Lucas...
Love these sweet friends!
Little Miss has started to enjoy time in the Bumbo.  She is so strong and has been trying to hold that head up since the day she was born!   She has it pretty well mastered these days.  My little Bumbo babe...
On Friday, we went to Sweet CeCe's to celebrate Crosby's half birthday.  It was a great way for me to justify a sugary treat!  Wonder if daily sugary treats are why I am hanging on to these last 10 pounds...  Whatever!!  Here is my boy being silly with his yogurt...
He got to open a belated (although we might just make this a yearly tradition because he thought it was awesome) birthday present from Uncle Justin and Aunt Katie...
New puzzles and a garbage truck!  Right up his alley.  He wanted to take a picture with Jane Claire but neither of them would look at the camera...
They wouldn't on Sunday either!!!  They looked so cute on Sunday morning.  I just wanted one picture...
It almost looks like he told her, "You look that way and I will look this way!!"  Gotta love it!  And I could just eat Jane Claire up in the this one...
She has the cutest little profile.  She is just a doll!!  Of course I finally got Crosby to look at the camera and all he could give me was the chipmunk!  Will I ever get great pictures of him again??
And that brings us to today.  My little beauty turned 3 months old today...
Jane Claire and her bunny...
Jane Claire and her bunny in her chair...
Couldn't pass up the big ole grin!  But I love to see her sitting up so big in this one...
Big feet, little feet...
Big hand, little hand...

And the 3 month sticker pictures...
My petite little angel...
Such a sweet little thing...
Happy to be outside...
Blowing bubbles...
Jane Claire is really a super sweet and happy baby.  She only cries if she is hungry or sleepy.  Or, if she is in the carseat!!!  She is not a fan of traveling around town.  Gonna have to work on that, Little Miss!!!  Brother starts school in August and we are going to be trucking him all around! :-)  She eats every 3 hours or so during the day but is giving me 4-5 hour stretches at night, usually until around 3:00 am.  She has a smile that will melt you as soon as you see it!  She has found her hands and loves, loves to have them in her mouth.  She also uses those hands to intentionally reach for objects.  Such a big girl!  She is really starting to like her activity mat and her boucey seat.  And my big girl doesn't want to be held like a little baby.  She wants to be sitting upright, looking at what is going on around her!  Hence the great head control.  She is still in 0-3 month clothes but is wearing some 3-6 months as well. She is still in size 1 diapers.  Although she sure is good at blowing out those diapers!  Which she prefers to do while protesting having to be in her carseat with the precious cover on it!!!  A cover I have now washed 8 times in a matter of 3 weeks!  I think she does it on purpose... ;-)  She is absolutely loved and adored by her big brother.  He is still obsessed with her soft hair and wants everyone we meet to feel it.  Strangers included!  We are so lucky this little lady joined our family and are completely in love with her.   Oh how we have been blessed to have these 2 children in our lives...

Ok, so now I have a CHIPMUNK, too! Shortly after Crosby mastered the look, William scrunched up his nose and bucked out those teeth, too! These funny boys!
