Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 2 years and 27 weeks old!  Well, he did on Monday anyway!!  technically it is Thursday. Man...I am super behind this week and I don't like it one bit.  Have the 4th of July fall on a Monday didn't help with the posting business.  Me working on the 4th and 5th didn't help either!  Then there was a church function last night and then I worked AGAIN this morning!  Shooooo!  I am worn out.  Not really.  The past 2 weeks have just been a little on the hectic side.  But, I actually have TWO sleeping babes (sweet Charlotte is here!!!) so I thought I would try to catch up while I have a second or two...I hope! ;-)

Let's see, what did happen last week???  Ahhhh yes, on my one off day, which just happened to coincide with Blake's off day, we took Crosby to see his first ever movie in the theatre.  Blake's idea.  He hasn't been able to watch a full length movie at our house so I kinda had a feeling he wouldn't last.  But, Blake really wanted to take him to see Cars 2.  Why not!  Unfortunately, I went off and left my camera on the table.  Thank goodness phones have decent  cameras these days!!  You know I HAD to document Crosby's first trip to the movies.  Or picture show, as my mom likes to call it!! ;-)  Love you mom...

Anyway, here are the boys walking up.  They kinda look like ants, I know...
Trying to get one of both my boys looking...
Somebody was too interested and what he was seeing through the glass doors...
Enough with the pictures. "Go that way, Daddy!!!"
Love seeing them walking and holding hands.  Melts my heart...
I am pretty sure it was 10:44 when we got to our theatre!!  Cutting it close...

I just wanted one picture of me and my boy...
Clearly that didn't happen!  My phone's flash is quite powerful...
I love seeing this little head, sitting so still, trying to figure out what in the world he is seeing!!!  It was just the Regal "R" at that particular moment...
Then he wanted to try out his own seat.  Of course he didn't weigh enough to keep it from flipping up on him!  Too bad I forgot to bring his booster in for that very reason!
And of course we had to give him the full experience and get a bag of popcorn...
All things considered, Crosby did pretty well.  But let me say we would not have made it through the previews without "Bubba"!!!  Previews are entirely too long these days. Seriously they were nearly 30 minutes long.  He kept saying, "Here it (the movie) comes" and I would follow with, "Nooo.  Just a minute..."  The poor thing probably thinks I am the biggest liar!  As for the movie itself, I didn't know what to expect because I haven't seen the original Cars.  I was quite surprised to see the plot was a play on James Bond that had cars with machine guns attached to them!!  For kiddos???  It was way more violent than I was prepared for.  I doubt we would have been able to sit through it had he been a little older and actually realized what was going on.  Sadly, it felt a little inappropriate for kiddos, if you ask me!   At least it was a fun day for our little family!

On Friday, we went to Lipscomb to see the fireworks.  And this time I remembered my camera!!!  Took it out of the bag, turned it on and...nothing.  Then battery was dead!  So hear is the one measly picture I took, again, with my cell phone!  Much like waiting through the previews for the movie to start, the firework show took a while to get started.  These two were struggling to keep from breaking down from exhaustion.  Blake's cellphone kept them entertained until the fireworks started!  Sure am glad we have smart phones...
Jump on over here to see a few GOOD pictures of our night!  Thank goodness Kara always has her camera!!! Oh, and I chopped my hair off... :-/

That gets us to Saturday!!  I had been waiting for Saturday to come for MONTHS.  Wonder why????  Here are a few hints...
Yep!!!  That is because we were HERE!!!  More on that later!!!  SOOOOOO FUN!!!!

We made it to another round of fireworks on Monday night.  We headed to our friend's house a walked over to the Bellemeade Country Club golf course to watch their grand production.  Much like this time last year!

This year's pictures look pretty similar!  The boys night be a weee bit bigger!

Riding in the wagon with an American flag in hand...
One of our family with EVERYONE looking and smiling!!!!  What!?!?!
The boys...
Me and my boy...
The "I am not lugging a tripod around to take fireworks pictures" fireworks pictures...

John Christopher and Crosby...
In fireworks awe...
Yay!  I'm caught up!  U2 to come soon I hope... ;-)

Danielle,

You should really see the first Cars movie, so you can see how much better it is than Cars 2. Neal is obsessed with it, and I bet Crosby would like it too. It's much more appropriate for children and a really cute, sweet story for adults too. :) We took Neal to see Cars 2 for his first movie too. Memories!
