Mondays with Crosby and Jane Claire

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 3 years and 50 weeks old!!!  At 1:03 pm, Jane Claire turned 37 weeks old!!!  In 2 short weeks, I will have a FOUR year old.  How is that even possible.  I must have messed up in my math somewhere.  I cannot be close to four can he???  I keep telling him to stop growing. "But Mommy, I cannot do that!!!  I do not know how!!!"  I tell him that I will just stop feeding him and maybe that will do the trick. ;-)  "Mommy!!! Are you just playing??"  Well of course I am just playing.  But only because I know that won't accomplish my goal.  If it would, I just might consider doing it!  I just want them to slow down.  I want my baby to stay a baby a little while longer.  I mean, Jane Claire will be ONE in just a few months, for crying out loud.  It is just so unfair...

I just had to get a Christmas "gown" for my girl.  Why a gown?  I don't know.  I had all but forgotten about gowns until a friend with girls mentioned them.  They are just so cute.  Not exactly practical for a crawling girl.  Precious, nonetheless.  And what goes with a Christmas gown?  Matching big brother PJs!  Perfect for picture taking.  They did a pretty good job sitting for a few shots. My favorite is the one above.  More to follow!

I just had to take a picture of Jane Claire after dinner.  I steamed broccoli and gave it to her.  She tried feeding herself but it made an absolute mess.  I had to take over.  She looked hilarious by the end of dinner.  The picture doesn't even do it justice...
I love Christmas cards.  I love sending them out.  I love receiving them.  I love that I have a little boy that wanted to help me with them this year...
Notice the sticker on his chest above.  And the one on his foot below!!  He likes stickers these days so he was willing to place the "stamp stickers" in the corner for 10 minutes or so.  I guess it got a little monotonous.  And there may have been a few placed in the wrong corner or upside down!!  At least it was something!  I was glad to have him assist...
We met the Graves boys at Monkey Joe's on Friday.  It was Jane Claire's first time to get in the "jump jumps," as Crosby calls them!  She thought they were pretty fun...
Such a big girl.  She quickly went from crawling to pulling up on everything!!  She she showing of her standing skills...
"Don't worry, Mom.  I've got this!"
Big grin...
Jane Claire and Finn...
There it is!  See that little white tooth poking through on the bottom?!?
Meanwhile, the boys were up and down the slides...
Crosby headed down face first!!!  No fear at this stage...
Lucas looks safe, right?   Yeah, that was after he took a running leap down the slide!!  No fear from this little fella either!!
So, I took this picture with my phone.  It is not as clear so you can't see what is actually taking place but it is epic.  Jane Claire Malone...fell asleep...in Kara's arms!?!?  What???
Yep!!!  The baby that will not stay in the nursery and gets me paged out every Sunday and every Wednesday, willing went to someone else AND even slept!  I don't know what she was thinking but I am so glad she thought it!!!  I told Kara she has to work in Nursery 1 every Sunday for me!! ;-)

Remember those sweet babes in their Christmas PJs???  Here are a few more that I liked.  Jane Claire found the lights and she was mesmerized by them...
"So pretty!!!  Maybe I can eat this!"
Sweet Crosby.  He says he can't remember how to smile.  I love any ole smile he gives.  And she just looks like a little doll...
There is no great time of year than Christmas!!
This kiddos make it all the more bright!
What precious Christmas blessing we have been given...

On Sunday, we celebrated my mom's birthday!  Crosby was sick the night before so it was just me and Jane Claire.  Blake missed out on 2 great meals with the Lipscomb crew 2 weeks in a row!  And yes my left eye looks bizarre.  Not sure why it was bloodshot for a few days but it sure was!  Allergies???  Happy Birthday, Mom!!!
You know he isn't feeling well when he falls asleep in your lap!!!
I don't know when that happened last.  I sure did milk it for all it was worth!!!

I caught Miss Priss proving Blake right.  We so should have dropped the mattress 2 notches instead of one!!!  I can't deny it much longer, huh...
There is nothing sweeter than a clean baby...
I thought I would try to get a better shot of her pearly white tooth.  She resisted...
Of course I won!  See that little white speck showing through those lips?!?
She is pretty proud of herself...
And here is my little Christmas babe at 37 weeks!!!
Yes, she needed a slip on but I was being lazy. She is adorable slip or no slip!! ;-)

On another note...  On Friday morning, Kara and I watched our boys run around playing and laughing, enjoying life to the fullest.  Meanwhile, a young man with a gun took the lives of innocent children, just a few years older than our boys, while sitting in a school classroom in Newtown, Connecticut.  I will never forget where I was or who I was with on the day this tragedy took place.  It is on days like this, I beg of Jesus to come quickly.  The world is NOT our home.  May God bless and comfort the families who lost their precious children...

I will never forget that morning either. Being with our gifts when other mommas would do anything to hold their sweet gifts again. It makes my heart hurt so badly. This world is not the end of the story, and for that I am so thankful--and for those mommas, I pray it comes soon.

So thankful we get to share life together and watch our boys who squeeze out as much joy and energy each day as humanly possible. I love you friend!
