Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 1 year and 27 weeks old!!! I didn't know if I would make it through this week. But as you can see, I did! And just like most situations, the anticipation was much worse than that the actual event. The hardest part of leaving Crosby for the weekend was this...
I admit, I was choking back the tears at this point. There was just something about seeing him in the car seat, being driven away... Thankfully, our car was packed and ready to go. We headed out right after my parents did. Once we were on the road, I was fine. As for Crosby, I don't even think he realized we were gone!
He went to a 4th of July party with my parents on Friday night. From what I have heard, he went for a swim with Pop, ate like a champ ( including corn on the cob) and was a sweet boy most of the night!
The pictures and videos indicate he spent most of Saturday outside! Well minus this one...
I had to put this one on there for my sake. It is the perfect shot of him making his sleepy sign. If he is tired, all you have to do is give him his bubba and he will cross his arms and start rubbing the opposite arm with the opposite hand. It really is sweet to watch. Sometimes he will even rub my arm. Even sweeter! Maybe I can get that on video for my sake one of these days...
For now, this is the way Grammie and Crosby like to roll...

Is that a wagon ride or what?? I am afraid we can't compete with the grandparents!! They ended up at this street...
In case you can't see, the street is named "Crosby Court"! Too bad the neighborhood existed before he did or we could tell him the street was named after him! I suppose it could work for a few years anyway...
He went to visit Mr. Stanley and got to "ride" on the "tractor"...
And then Mr. Stanley showed him how to ride a bicycle... Then he got to play in the sprinkler system...And the street! Good thing the roads are empty most of the time! :) Once again, we can't top the grandparents who have a nice, flat driveway and street! We have to deal with a steep driveway and street!
Meanwhile, Blake and I were enjoying the day in Cincinnati. I did a little shopping while he played golf with the guys. Then we met back up and went to Jimmy and Kati's wedding. Here's the proof...
And here we are with the bride and groom...sort of...
We finally got our hands back on our sweet boy yesterday afternoon. Wouldn't you know the child who was perfect all weekend woke up in the crabbiest of moods for us! Isn't that how it goes? Great for the grandparents, bad for the parents! I didn't care. It just gave me the chance to cuddle up with my little man and rock for a while. At least until he was distracted by a visit to a friend's house...
Crosby and his buddy, John Christopher, enjoyed playing outside with the bubbles while waiting to eat dinner...
He is all about giving kisses away these days. Even to friends who happen to be boys...
Sweet friends...
This was AFTER dinner. The boys were trying to the their dad's to hurry up already!!! They were ready to take a wagon ride to see the fireworks in Bellemeade!
Blake had to chase the boy ALL OVER the golf course until the show got started...
But once it started...
He sat and watched in awe...
Well, until he heard a much cooler helicopter... Man, this little boy loves anything related to transportation! Forget fireworks...
Blake got his PJ's out last night. Yes, they are from Christmas. And, yes, they are "tight fittin' PJ's" as Blake likes to sing...
I think they are ready for retirement!
