Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 2 years and 13 weeks old!!!  And what a doozie of a week it has been! Crosby and I hopped in the car with my parents and headed to Georgia to visit my aunt and uncle.  What I had planned on being a lovely visit turned out to be mess!  Crosby was in rare form.  I have never heard that child whine as much as he did in that 48 hour period.  One second, he would be sitting in my aunt's lap reading a book.  The next second, he was crying, "Mommy's coming!?!? Mommy's Coming?!?"  The child that loves being with his grandparents, would whine if they got near him.  He just wanted to be right up under me.  He didn't want to sit and eat meals.  He woke up 3 and 4 times a night. His nap was shorter than normal on Friday.  Basically, the child was a train wreck.

To make matters worse, a sore throat turned into a hacking cough for me.  I probably got 3 hours of sleep Friday night between Crosby waking up and me nearly coughing my head off...literally.  I even have pulled muscles in my back from this horrific cough. Which I still have...

Between Crosby's attitude and my ailment, I hardly pulled the camera out.  Of course most of the pictures portray a sweet, adorable boy!!!  Don't be fooled!

A peaceful moment, reading a book with Uncle Ken...

Mr. Grumpy Pants at dinner.  Not wanting to eat or have his picture taken...

Reading books with GeeGee...

Reading books with Aunt Dot...

Thank goodness I took a LOT of books!  He at least LOOKED sweet while reading them!!  But this picture pretty much sums up our trip...

Mr. Whiney Pants will be lucky if he is ever invited to visit Uncle Ken and Aunt Dot again!!!  I can only hope my aunt and uncle weren't scarred from our visit.  I keep thinking maybe he really wasn't as bad as I perceived.  Maybe he didn't seem that whiney to the rest of the family!!  I can only wish... :)

So here we are on Monday.  I am still hacking.  He is still having his whiney moments.  At least I got a few smiles out of him.  Bribery.  "If you will be a sweet boy while I get paint, you can ride the tractors AFTER we are done."  He did pretty good so he got to ride a few tractors...

 He was thrilled...
 Feeling pretty cool...
 And quite proud of himself...
Next time I will have to remember to take a "tractor" with us to visit Aunt Dot and Uncle Ken!!! :)

While we were away, most of the blooms popped out on Finley's cherry blossom.  It seems like the blooms start to fall of before you get a chance to even enjoy them.  Crosby sees them blowing in the wind and calls them "big snow!"  I was glad to see bright blue skies so I could snap a few pictures this year.  Pretty cute. I love the pink cluster right in the middle...

What a beautiful way to remember my sweet girl...

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 2 years and 12 weeks old!!!  It has almost been one week since his mom celebrated HER birthday!  I asked around for an appliqued "33" t-shirt to wear with a hot pink tutu and big, pink hair bow.  No one had one on hand!  So no frilly birthday pictures of me...this year!!
We did start out last Tuesday with a meal at Noshville's.  Just me and my boys.  Crosby wouldn't look at the camera but at least he smiled...
I kept requesting birthday kisses...
And he held out for a while!
But then he finally gave in and give his old mom a kiss!
Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I bribed him with cupcakes from The Cupcake Collection!  I should have taken a picture of the beauties we came home with.  But we ate them too fast! Crosby request the "pink" one.  Hmm.  I had the peanut butter mousse and Blake had wedding cake.  Then we got a key lime pie just for the fun of it!  Oddly enough, Crosby knew exactly where we were when Blake pulled onto the street. "Cukcake Lection!!!  Cukcake Lection!!!"  Here we are in front of the tasty treats...
I had a great day celebrating with Blake and Crosby!  I loved hearing my little man sing "Happy Birthday" to me over and over!  I need to catch that on video. I don't even know how to phonetically spell it they way he says it.  It is pretty cute though!

Crosby was the recipient of a super duper surprise this week.  Charlotte and Anne Claire spent the night with us on Wednesday.  Let me tell you, we laughed so hard watching these two together!  They had soooo much fun chasing each other around the house.  Blake got it all started with this little trick...
After they ran themselves silly, we decided they were ready for a cousins bath.  Crosby was so excited to share his bath toys with another person!  Charlotte wasn't so sure about it...
I think she was a little concerned about the red water.  Who can blame her!?!  There were lots of kisses on Wednesday night...
 And choke holds...
They were OUT like a light when we put them to bed.  But they were raring to go the next morning.  We threw Charlotte in the bed with Crosby and they found it awesome...
Crosby had to show her how to "jump, jump, jump".  He is demonstrating, if you can't tell!!!
 And there were more hugs...
And tackles!!  Charlotte sure puts up well with Crosby and his not so gently affection...
Along with every other family in Davidson County, we headed to the zoo on Thursday.  It was nuts.  We kinda forgot about spring break.  Charlotte didn't.  She was all about relaxing!  She was out before we made it past the gibbons...
 Sweet girl...
Melissa, Margaret and Wells joined us for the adventure.  These two don't mind being in close quarters either!!!
Seeing how Crosby and Charlotte were up late the night before, Crosby was worn out by the end of our zoo trip.  He slept for 3 1/2 hours once we got home!

There is really no point to the next pictures.  Other than the fact that I was trying to get a picture of him in one of my FAVORITE spring outfits that is currently hanging in his closet.  Or is it lying right outside his door waiting to be hung?? Any way, you will see a better picture of this one of these days...
Cause he wasn't having it yesterday!  You will just have to take my word for it when I say he looked adorable!!!  Although this picture does not fit that description...
We had another gorgeous Spring day so we headed to "Daddy's work!!!"  Crosby loves running around the property.  He stopped to give all of the dogs a hug...
I am sure they felt loved!
I tried to follow him around in an attempt to catch a few cute pictures.  This one was pretty sweet...
And I managed to bribe him to look at the camera for a few seconds there.  I managed to get a few cute up close!  Miracle...
He looks so sweet and innocent!  Don't be fooled... ;-)
Then he headed of for a little rock climbing...
He thought that was pretty cool and he was proud of himself for reaching the summit...
Needless to say, they are not that big.  But we will let him think what he wants!
My big boy looking so...big...

What a cheese!!!
He loved running through the grass...
I would say this was a pretty good Monday!  He would definitely agree...

And just so I don't forget, Crosby is saying lots of funny things these days...

He pointed to tattoos  on a waitress' arms and said "Uh Oh!!!"   He said it every, single time she came to our table.  I didn't know if I should be embarrassed or if I should laugh.  She laughed so we all laughed too!

Tonight when I was rocking him before bed, he looked up at me and said, "Kiss me, Mommy."  I didn't understand him initially.  (probably had something to do with having a bubba in his mouth...)  So I had him repeat it.  I was pretty sure he said what I thought he said.  I verified, "Did you say, Kiss Me?"  He gave his standard response, "Okay!"  So I smiled a big 'ole smile and gladly kissed my boy on the forehead.  And nose.  And cheeks!!  He followed with, "I love you, Mommy."  Talk about precious...

Mondays with Crosby

At 11:24 am, Crosby Fox turned 2 years and 11 weeks old!!!  Why the picture of the finger in the ear?  Who knows.  The boy just cracks me up.  It is the little things he does.  Like tonight.  He was SUPPOSED to be asleep.  He was having a hard time getting there so I put him in bed with us...

Me: "Crosby, close your eyes."

Crosby: reaches up with his index finger and tries to close his eyelid!!!

A few minutes later, he was lying on his back with his head turned to Blake.  Blake has his eyes closed but is no where near sleep.  I can see Crosby's cheeks puffed up and know he is grinning from ear to ear as he watches for Blake's eyes to open.  So he starts waving to Blake.  "Hi, Daddy!"  Then Blake starts smiling and opens his eyes.  Then he turns to me and waves. "Hi, Mommy!"  Followed by family giggles.

Then there is the way Crosby responds to my request with, "No"(which he knows is not allowed), and quickly turns it around by asking, "What Shalat (Charlotte) say???" And you better know there is a big grin on his face.  He is, of course making is seem like he is talking about this video of his famous cousin...

The BIG grin on his face does not give his true intention away or anything!  Gotta give him credit there.  He is one sly FOX!!!  So what if that was cheesy...

This week we went to Bounce U for the first time with Kara and Lucas.  It was a fun place.  Crosby is a fan of jump jumps for sure.  However, he did seem to have a little fear in going down the big slide toward the end!  I am kinda glad to know there is something he is somewhat scared of!  Now we can add huge slides to his list.  Huge slides and the carwash!  I tried to take a few pictures but didn't have much luck...

"Wheeeeeee"...
Pretty big slide!!!
Let's try going down on the belly...
Proud of himself...
Look at that hair! And look at the little fella he was about to cream...
I don't think he was a fan of Crosby...
In Crosby's defense, the little fella had been sitting in the spot for at least 10 minutes.  And he had just ripped the lovie right out of his little brother's hands and kicked him in the face.  Just sayin'...

We went to a park out at Nashville West this weekend.  It was really a great spot.  Crosby had to excuse himself from the slides once he saw the backhoe loader in the distance.  Needless to say, he took it for a little "drive"...
This boy loves construction equipment...

We had a visitor today.  "Baby Jack" was at our house for a few hours today...
Crosby was pretty excited to have him over.  He even willingly posed for a picture!!!
He had to show all of his trucks to Jack.  I think Jack was pretty impressed!
Crosby was very confused by the "lellow" (yellow) bubba in Jack's mouth.  He was pretty convinced it was "Crosby's bubba!"  He would gently try and remove it from Jack's possession...
Crosby "holding" Jack...
Make sure you check out the post below from Saturday!  Yes, I made an extra post this week!!
